  • Poll Poll
Big XII Bowl Qualifiers for 2022 (Poll)

What additional Big 12 teams will bowl qualify in 2022?

  • OU

    Votes: 76 89.4%
  • TTU

    Votes: 37 43.5%
  • ISU

    Votes: 56 65.9%
  • WVU

    Votes: 1 1.2%

I'm not sayin' ... I'm just sayin' ... But it is actually possible that the Big XII makes history this season by qualifying all10 teams for bowl season. With 3 games left, 6 are already qualified, and the remaining 4 still have a pulse. What needs to happen is for West Virginia to run the table, while OSU, who has been in a world of hurt, loses out. Let's break this down:
  • WVU plays 2 or their final 3 games at home against the KSU and OU. Not easy,, but I like their chances of winning elimination games in Morgantown. Then, they finish the year in Stillwater. Not an easy place to play, but if OSU continues its late season free fall, the Mountaineers could have a shot at a bowl berth.
  • Our ISU home boys regained some self respect vs the aforementioned Mountaineers, and can still sustain a loss. They will need to win at least one on the road, and this week at OSU is their best shot. They return home from Stillwater to face TTU at the Jack, where they should be favored, especially if that wind is out of the north. And, if they need #6 against TCU, isn't that a perfect setup for what CMC does best? Especially if TCU is on the precipice of a top 4 ranking in the CFP race?
  • TTU needs 2. If they drop one in Ames, they must win both remaining home games vs KU and OU. But those are no world beaters, and, aside from Morgantown, what other venue is a better setup for winning 2 elimination games than Lubbock?
  • OU needs only 1 win Bedlam, in which they have been dominant over the years, is at home this year. And, as noted previously, if OSU continues is downward spiral, OU is bowl qualified by winning on Senior day. Short of that, they cold still salvage a difficult road win at either WVU and TTU.
