Clevinger

Offensive Coordinator

None of the main mens sports at Nebraska are any good, so that can’t be good for a business based on people paying to read about them:

1. Baseball just went 23-30 for its worst finish since 1975.

2. Basketball went 10-22 last season and is almost always bad historically.

3. Scott “The Savior” Frost has gone 4-8, 5-7, 3-5, and 3-9 so far. His only areas of success are securing contract extensions he doesn’t deserve and cringeworthy, regrettable comments.

No one buys the hype anymore.

Anyone fished Lake of the Ozarks?

I'm heading down to Gravois Mills next week and will probably do some fishing. will probably focus on bass but I'm pretty opportunistic when it comes to fish.

Anyone have any advice for fishing there this time of year? (Other than eat at Blue Cat Inn, Lickety Splitz, etc.). When I bass fish in Iowa it is mostly with plastics with a few jigs and crankbaits thrown in. We will b on the far North end on the Gravois arm.

I'd alos take local craft beer recommendations in cast the fishing is slow.

Williams & Blum Pod: A.J. Green watch, Tyrese Hunter to Texas & more

Final X, U23 Nationals, U20 WTT

Big weekend of wrestling coming up with Final X Stillwater on June 3rd, and U23 Nationals and U20 WTT both happening June 3-5. I'm a little disappointed in the lack of Cyclones wrestling this week, but I believe there is still time to register. I will update the list of entrants if anymore Cyclones register. It should also be noted that MJ Gaitan will face the winner of the U20 Greco-Roman 77kg winner in a best of 3 series for his spot on the world team.

Final X:
74kg David Carr vs Joey Lavallee (3rd)

U20 Freestyle:
70kg Paniro Johnson
86kg Fernando Villaescusa

U23 Freestyle:
86kg Fernando Villaescusa

Personally, either way is interesting and scary. If we humans are alone in the universe, yikes. If we are not alone, yikes.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

I've been sick most of the week, and as a result, I've caught up on a bunch of television I've been meaning to watch. One of those shows is Garth Marenghi's Darkplace. I'd watched the first couple episodes on youtube a few years ago, and I've seen several clips, but never got around to watching the full series. but, when I saw it available to stream on Amazon, I couldn't resist.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, it's a British show featuring Richard Ayoade and Matt Berry in prominent roles. It's about a horror author, Garth Marenghi, who back in the 1980's, wrote, produced, and starred in a television series about a haunted hospital. But, the show was so bad that it never aired (except in Peru). Now, several years later, a television network is out of ideas, so they decide to broadcast the episodes.

The format is sort of a show within a show, and it's intentionally terrible. I mean really terrible. Everything from the acting, sound, dialogue, effects, etc is done incredibly bad and cheesy on purpose. And it's ******* hilarious.

It's really worth checking out

Here's one of Matt Berry's scenes, as well as the entire first episode

Recruiting vs NFL Draft Success

It took me a while to catch on to this, in part because it took so long to come together.

It’s a truism in college football that new head coaches’ first recruiting classes are a modest hodgepodge of hastily put together talent. Grabbing the best you can come up with at the last moment—see Venables at OU stealing a recruit from our last signing class.

On top of that, ISU hasn’t had much of an NFL Draft history for quite some time.

But what I just twigged to a moment ago is that CMC’s very first Cyning class (‘16) included a future NFL third rounder (DM), and two fourth rounders (Kene and Enyi).

How cool is that? How astonishing is that?

Now, the ‘17 Class also has a 4th rounder (Mr. Spaghetti Hands) and the ‘18 Class a 7th (Brock) so far, but the ‘19 Class has already upped the ante with a 2nd rounder in Breeced Lightning.

Not a bad start to CMC’s career here.

It would be interesting to see a chart and a bar graph over the coming years to see just what happens as CMC’s career progresses here. Some of you younger folks are gonna be really, really lucky!

New WBB Coordinator of Video/Recruiting Ops?

Yesterday, ISU posted a job opening for WBB Coordinator of Video and Recruiting Operations, which is Eddie Praley's current position: https://isu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/e...eo-and-Recruiting-Operations_R8616?q=athletic

Praley's likely either moving on or moving up (or both).

Bill, Jodi, and Carper are all suddenly following Tennessee Tech WBB DOBO Emily Hatfield on twitter, so she seems like a likely candidate to fill the position.
