Zeb Noland signs with ISU

I didn't miss anything. What I'm concerned with is a top recruit, who can still change schools by February, reading a post like that without an emoticon and wondering what kind of idiot fan base exists at ISU? That's what I'm worried about.

Well I think once he actually enrolls at ISU in January the transfer residancy requirements then kick in. However, I believe he could still flip up until that point theoretically. However unclear if any coaches can contact him now that it's a dead period.

Here's a 2 star QB who did pretty well for himself.

Let's give Zeb a chance to compete! If history tells us anything, it's that we can never have enough bodies at the QB position. Campbell got the guy he wanted, and that's good enough for me.

Perhaps it is his completion rate that is scaring some of the big dogs away. The ISU press release has him with a .554 completion rate his junior year but a scary .467 completion rate his senior year. I will trust the coaches on this one. I can't point to a single recruit that Campbell has brought to ISU who was a bust.

When you see a QB named Zeb does anyone else immediately think of Zebbie Lethridge and that ridiculous 4th down play in the Big 12 Championship game?

I was just going to comment on his completion % being the red flag for me. In his highlight videos he does make some good throws where he drops the ball over a LB in the middle of the field, or over a CB and in front of the safety on a deep throw down the sideline. Many of his WR are fairly open, but the ball hits them in the hands and in-stride quite often, so that's a positive too.

Wish his video showed more variety of throws. Mostly outs and posts on it. He obviously has a strong arm, but will have to be able to execute fade routes and screens that show more touch on the ball at this level. He's been in many high level camps, I'm sure Campbell has seen enough to know whether he thinks he's got the requisite skill set.

I hope you're posting from 2019.

What were you watching? He had some throws over the linebacker and in front of the safety, but many were outside deep fades or corners. He looks to put a ton of air under the ball, which I was encouraged by. Maybe too much at times, but it looked as if he is willing to let his receivers make a play. I only saw one screen pass, but touch didn't appear to be an issue. If anything, it was a strength, but it was a highlight video, so tough to get the full story.

Good point Velo, but in his film almost every throw is 15-65 yards vertically downfield. A QBs completion % is enhanced with 8-10 bubble screens per game, something I hope we get away from.

I like this kid.

It helps having his high school receivers run away from coverage by 10-15 yds, where a little air is OK. Some balls were even pop-fly's...

He might not be able to throw those high arching passes in the Big 12

Maybe Zeb could bring his beat wide receiver with him, #1 wide out seemed to work well with him. Tracked the ball in the air and ran under them good hands, good speed.
