The stuff being said to him is jawdroppingly pathetic. The two that I know of based off Jon Miller and Rick Brown retweets were:

'you're ******* terrible. you came in w/ Todd's awful recruits. don't belong on this team. Go cost someone else games.'
if you just search '@zmccabe15' on Twitter you'll see more filth. I don't like McCabe or Iowa but I do feel sorry for him and I don't fault him one bit for responding how he did. Should he have Twitter? Maybe not, but Iowa fans need called out for that crap. What's appalling is that Iowa fans think he should be suspsended or even kicked off the team for that reaction. I would be embarrassed if I were an Iowa fan.

Who does Iowa play next? Wouldn't be surprised if those were troll accounts from that teams fan base. Or possibly Wisky fan rubbing it in.

Every fan base has their morons. And while social media can be awesome for 99% of those using it, the morons give the medium, and the fanbases they represent bad names.
This might sound silly, but the solution is for those fans with real perspective, and for the media to do what they are doing - shine a light on those who chose to be especially negative and personal towards others.

Big difference between going after a opposing player and your own. That has been going on forever, usually in a more personal manner than twitter (Missouri's Antlers for example).

Well there should be no doubt what the 1460 morning show will talk about. The morning after our win over Texas last week they had a brief mention of our win, nothing about the Big12, and most of the rest of the show was about the Iowa game that was canceled.
Marble played a great game but he owes McCabe dinner because Marble choked again down the stretch and didn't get any heat for it
Good for McCabe. Hawk players are starting to realize what everyone else in the free world has known for some time - Iowa fans are the worst fanbase in sports.
If you distill it down to people behaving badly...it is pretty damn tame for what has been happening since college sports existed. Saying something bad to someone on Twitter is nothing compared to what athletes have encountered in person for decades. They are the opposition, give them hell. The point of significance with Twitter is the eating your own part.
I've said it before, but why if you're a recruit would you want to play for a fairweather fan base like that.
They talked about something other than donuts, video games and baseball? shocker. I love those long pauses of silence that shows that these guys are rookies. Bring back Miller and Deace.
Just read on Rob Howe's HawkeyeInsider twitter account that Iowa fans were leaving Carver-Browneye with 14 seconds left and Iowa still only down three. Wow.
