Zac Sandvig

Sandvig is a little jitterbug who can really do some damage in punt returns. Before it is all said and done, he will be an asset to this team both as a corner and a returner, just takes time.

I agree he has a lot of potential, if he can not do it I have seen his little bro change the outcome of games from the PR position.

Good grief am I going to have to read this crap all year. Sandvig has his absolutely first collegiate game in front of 47,000 people and can see unblocked defenders coming at him full bore wanting to break him in half but, other then that, he has no reason to get nervous. One of the other first timers was puking his guts out in the northwest corner of the endzone during warmups and ended up wearing 33 instead of 23 as a result.

You usually see your biggest improvement going from week 1 to week 2 and we will see improvement. We aren't going to go 8-4, or 7-5, or 6-6, or probably worse then 5-7. Sandvig will be a huge asset to this team in his next 3 years, and hopefully this year yet. Be patient people or go out and try to get the job yourself.

Anyone else feel he desearved to get plowed on that last one in a good way. I mean you drop too, why not steam roll over the guy and take him out of the play from recovering it.

*shocker* he caught it, but now he knows what it feels like to get hit. Maybe he wont drop any more. <crosses fingers>

It is probably good for him, I think he heard the footsteps coming and got nervous. Now that he took a shot and realized that he is not going to get hurt, maybe he will go in there and just catch them.

He should not be back to receive another punt this season. Two and your out. Put someone else back there.

Ya unlike you, at least 85% of us have failed at something before we started to succeed at something or possibly become really good at it. Thank God, we had a coach or a boss that realized mistakes happen and people deserve more then two chances.

I hate that sorry A$$ excuse that it was his first collegiate football game and he was probably nervous. He shouldn't be out there if that is the case. Put Sumrall, Moses, or hell even Blythe back there because if Sandvig would have lost those two fumbles, ISU would have lost by a lot more than they did.

There are plenty of guys on the team who can catch punts. Catching the ball first is the most important, then running. Sandvig can probably do a lot of good things, but I see no reason for putting him back into the same situation. With two muffs already, one more and you shoot his confidence for the rest of the season, and he's needed on defense. I'd put my money on a veteran back there.

Hopefully they have given him the zero tolerance talk. Fumbles happen but one more and the hook will be flying. Pressure should make him perform otherwise he's not fit for the job.

I was surprised they didn't try somebody else in the 4th quarter. If GC is giving guys three games to prove themselves, I hope Zac doesn't fumble one that costs us the UNI or Iowa game. Whether it's nerves or inexperience, I think fumblitis is a hard thing to get out of your system.

If I remember correctly, the first punt return that Jamaine Billups ever had at ISU was against Pitt in the Insight Bowl....

If memory serves me correct, he took that one to the house and sealed the win for the Cyclones...

That right there is enough not to use the "first game jitters" excuse...
