If I had to pick one at the top of my list it would be Tim Conway. If he can't make you laugh you are dead. You still might laugh. He was the master of breaking script and throwing his partners for a loop. One of my favorites is when he talked about the elephants. Carol Burnett can hardly keep it together.



Perhaps the best was his dentist routine. Harvey Korman literally peed his pants during the skit!

I always tell you when you’re wrong, so I will give credit where it’s due.

Hicks was amazing. Before his time, and brilliant.

Carlin and Pryor are The Godfather’s.

And 4th, I love Murphy and kinnison, and saw them both live. But I don’t think I ever laughed harder than I did when I saw dennis Miller (pre him being scared by 911). His HBO show was gold. Makes Bill Maher look bad in comparison.

As for newer guys, I really like Kyle Kinane. I had bought tickets to see him at the paper tiger here in sa, but then the shut down happened.

Also, I saw Patton Oswald last spring at the Tobin Center, he’s brilliant.

There's a reason Hicks was listed first. My all-time #1.

A few things. I am big into comedians. Love it. Sit around and listen all the time. Road trips I listen to mostly stand up.

George Carlin is one of my favorites. Dude is awesome and his stuff would be even better in modern times with all the wimpyness of America. However, he has some really bad albums in between really good ones.

Also, No idea why Andrew Dice Clay get's left off everyones list. Dude sold out Madison Square several times in a row and did Arena tours for the longest time. First comedian to ever do that. Possibly because he is not the huge star anymore that he was. However, the guy had some seriously good stuff.

Jay Leno- He was considered the best comic at the Comedy Store by all the comics pre Tonight show.
Joan Rivers was so good. She was one of the first women to do "Men" type sets. Her stuff still holds up today.
Sam Kinnison- Life ended right when he was huge
Bill Hicks- Dennis Leary ripped off his whole act. To the point he would do it word for word.
I know this will get some hate and I am not a huge fan. Dane Cook was huge. Yeah he might have stolen the jokes also but he was huge. I never got his act.

I’ll open a can of worms, but I’m one of those people that don’t find female comics funny. It’s not a sexist thing because I genuinely want to enjoy their routine, but I feel like Amy Schumer, Nikki Glaser, Sarah Silverman, etc. all have the same act and it’s not funny.
