WWJD- What Will Jamie Do?

I am fine with TJ, but for someone to say they don't get Hornacek buzz is mind blowing....He runs an even faster pace offense than Fred, is thought of as one of the top shooting coaches in the world, and is an ISU legend....it would keep the momentum and profile at ISU with the media, and fans would be all in....
Yea I don't get the Hornacek talk dude. Hornacek will be lucky if he doesn't get fired next year. I know Jeff Hornacek was a great player, but so were Clyde Drexler and Isaiah Thomas. There are way more cases of people ending up like them than there are Fred Hoiberg. We have hired top young coaches like Tim Floyd and Larry Eustachy before and we can do it again. We have the best 4 year run in the history of ISU basketball, we need someone who wont drop the ball instead of rolling the dice with on-the-job training again. Just my two cents. Having said that I fully expect T.J. to be the H.C. next year.

Honestly. Archie Miller and Gregg Marshall are not coming here.
Why would we want Archie? 68 pts per game and not top 150 in offensive efficiency? Would kill the magic and not what our roster is built for.

He was hired to babysit while they get a lottery pick and rebuild and he nearly made the playoffs last year having a top 8 offense in the NBA. He is did a lot with a not great team now that teams know how to prepare for the two PG attack he returned to expectations but he is a good coach and good offensive mind like Fred (they both have a little Johnny in them) that said I don't think the suns ever intended for him to be the long term coach but he did a good job and may be a great steal for us. If Aand when we need a coach.

Wow, really? You are comparing Hornacek to Isiah and Drexler? Jeff took a Phienix team expected to win less than 20 gems to a 48 win season year 1 and was in pace for another before some major trades sidetracked his second half of season year 2.... Jeff is considered an up and coming young coach, and would keep a similar offense that college kids dream of playing in at ISU...... You may want to put away whatever you are smoking as your post made no sense.

He'd be very good here, at the very worst. He'd probably be outstanding.

I wouldn't care at all if we brought in a guy that put more emphasis on defense in rebounding. Being the Virginia or Wisconsin of the Big 12 doesn't sound bad at all to me.

Shooting for that goal could easily turn you into the iowa hawkeyes of the big 12.

Just win. That's what counts. Frankly a slower pace and playing D would actually help in the tourney.

Floyd and LE played a slower pace and LE had the best 2-yr period in our history.

Looking forward to having the lowest rated recruiting classes in Football AND basketball.

Keep in mind the rules are changing....the consensus find the slow plodding hold the ball offense brutal to watch, so having a coach who understands uptempo basketball is pretty key...

First, our HS recruiting has been average at best under Fred. Actually the last two years it's been flat out bad.

Floyd and LE put more players in the NBA than Fred. So far his NBA rollodex only seems to help him land NBA jobs for himself.

But I'm not saying hire Floyd/LE, that was in response to Archie Miller. There's no reason to think anyone we hire will automatically be a better recruiter at ISU than him.

If Fred leaves, any replacement candidate whose style of play will result in less PPG is automatically eliminated. Archie Miller is at the top of the eliminated list.

Do you seriously think that Otz as a rookie HC will be able to get as many PPG as Hoiberg? You eliminated Otz in your own post.

There is no reason to suggest that he couldn't. He has seen what has worked at ISU under Fred and what doesn't work under GMac. With the experienced team that is returning, I would hope they'd play at an even faster pace.
