What should be worrisome is attendance, if you were at todays game and saw the second half attendance ,that is what next years first half could look like. Cyclone fans are eternal optimists but it is gonna catch up as people get sick of the product on the field.a

The fans do a one more year thing, at least outwardly. Pollard isn't going to announce that. If it's a situation of "one more year" ala Brady Hoke, recruits know that anyway and if it starts going bad, recruits bail.

I have fallen off the wagon. I could see improvement to the Toledo game in the defense. The offense kind of surprised me against Toledo and UT even though there were flashes. Now the defense has regressed enormously. I didn't watch today, I just listened but it was embarrassing for me to have to sit there and question why you would even bother to pass when you can run it down our throats. I think the game has passed Wally by and at the very least, there needs to be a change there. Right now I don't really care what they do though. You have Mangino here, maybe you fire Rhoads and let Mangino take over.

It looked like we were down to Aka and Trent inside at times. No experienced MIKE due to injury too. Plus the fact we would be outclassed if having the roster we thought back in March. I think there were legitimate short-term reasons why there was nothing to be done the past two weeks by Wally. We will never beat a good OU team with 3rd string guys inside and losing our MIKE lb on play 2.

That said we are at the GMac stage, valid reasons for failure just do not matter any more. When we lose most of our staff in the next two years, it is logical such massive turnover will less to some issues. Does not matter. Unfortunate circumstances, as well as some reasonable, but poor coaching decisions (Mess and K) have taken what should be a trending up year and turned this into a shitfest. Like GMac, every single failure, all the way to an individual play level, can be explained away with common aliments. The problem is it is damn near every play we are explaining.

It is always something, to the point it just does not matter how valid each failure is on an isolated basis. We consistently to play unsound football.

If we fire Rhoads, does Lazard stay? He was a big reason why Lazard came here.

i think expanding the stadium and finally bowling in the endzone after a 5-19 two-year run is the most iowa state thing ever.

our fans are the best.

Hey to be fair Rhoads told us "Don't bowl in the end zone! I don't want to play in front of empty stadiums!" LOL

(not kidding)

You may not believe this, but it was even worse on tv. There were run plays with 10 yard holes play after play. OU ran what looked like nearly the same power play about 5 straight times on drive and didn't get stopped for less than a first down once.

I'm at the point of throwing up my hands and not caring what JP does now. It feels like a lose lose.

140+ votes in and 70%+ of fanatics do not want to fire Rhoads. Not what I would have guessed given the abundance of threads on the topic.

But the runaway option in the poll is to treat 2015 as a make or break season, so next season will be pivotal.

All along, I've said Rhoads had to prove last year was an aberration. If he could show that it was just a blip on his resume instead of a downward spiral, then there's no reason to fire him. However, we've seen that obviously last year wasn't an aberration. Unless we really pull something crazy out of thin air and win out or only lose one to finish, then I'll shut up. I want him gone after this year.

So am I and I think people know how hard it must have been to get me there. The problem, for me, is that unless you hire Mangino, which is possible if not probable, you are hiring someone you don't know about. Can you find the next Dantonio or do you end up with the next Chizik? You are going to have to gamble and there just aren't a bunch of proven guys at lower levels who excite me. So do you take a huge flier on Bob Stitt or do you see if Ruffin McNeil translates and you can get Lincoln Reilly as well. The problem there is that Reilly is probably going to get the head job there. I don't know man.

Who cares about losing Lazard? I do. You do realize he has been the second best player on the field behind Richardson don't you?

haha your joking right? Lazard is a true freshman and is easily the best player on the team.

Your pull is on CF though, not really an indicator of the whole population. The "fringe" fans, they are gone. Fringe fans take season ticket sales up around 10k and help set season ticket sale records.
