wish bubu could play

Bubus not playing because Fred didn't want him on the team. The court forced it. If you don't believe it, look at the facts. He isn't playing, he warms up on his own and is not with the team for their pregame talk. He's out shooting with the red shirts. He's also not show on the scoreboard with all of the other team members, including next years redshirts and transfers. Go early and watch. For Senior night, I'd give him his jersey, introduce him and not make a big deal out of it either way.

Bubu's been with the team for all the games I've been at (haven't missed one). On Bubu's first game back on the team, Kane would not let Bubu be the last one to come out of the locker room. Ask Melvin what he thinks about Bubu...make sure you have some time. Fred is not in a position to comment...JP and Leath made it politically incorrect to say anything. At least Bubu is All Big 12 Second Team in academics.

Bubu, thanks for sticking with the Cyclones.

This isn't Fred's decision. This comes from the top. Just look at Fred's comments from the summer talking about Palo.

Fred isn't going to go against the President of the University.

Hoiberg doesn't want him playing, and neither do Pollard and Leath likely. Just because Bubu was ruled innocent or the case was dismissed doesn't mean he was totally innocent. Maybe there were things that he admitted to in court. The prosecutors didn't help their case by fabricating the evidence. That pretty much threw everything away there.

Why did Fred play him last year?

Regardless of whether you think he was innocent or guilty, right or wrong, or whatever it may be, it's glaringly obvious he's not going to play (maybe briefly on senior night). I really wish people would just move on. It seems he's happy just to be part of the team, so I don't know why people continue to ***** and moan. It is what it is.
It is what it is, an injustice.

Yea, did you not know that Bubu had been in court since last year? Things happen. The evidence does not support that Leath is a big bad meanie and Bubu is this sweet innocent kid that is not allowed to play because of Leath. There are a lot of details that you and I do not know.

Bubu's not playing because Fred doesn't want him playing. Period. If Fred wanted him on the floor and Leath said no it'd take a single leak and all of Cyclone Nation would be on Fred's side.
I agree a single leak and cyclone nation would be behind Fred. But don't think for a moment that Fred is not being the good ISU soldier and toeing the company line. No one can convince me with Bubu on ball defense, that Fred wouldn't have used him this year.

You don't get it. Fred not playing Bubu has nothing to do with how good of a player he is. He absolutely would be playing but there is something that happened in court or Bubu admitted something that broke student conduct that is keeping him from playing more than likely. Playing basketball is a privilege not a right and Hoiberg, Pollard, and Leath all are in agreement on this more than likely.

Bubu won't play because he will be appealing for a 6th year and transferring. Not sure why this hasn't been discussed. Practicing with this team is helping him get better for next year. He has quite the case for the NCAA and the money to fight it.

This makes sense with what I've heard from people familiar with the situation. Some people forget that once JP and Leath muddied the waters on BuBu's return to the court with hypocritical statements like "honor before victory", this put Fred in a terrible situation. Fred is a coach BuBu admires and respects and although there are several reasons BuBu may not have wanted to play after Leath's statements, one would be not to relieve Fred of the terrible decision of having to go against his bosses.

Here we go again with the "there's something Leath knows that we don't" that was actually perpetuated by Leath in his interview with the media. Seems like we heard the same thing about Morgan when JP fired him, and there turned out to be nothing. If Leath knows something more about this case and hasn't told the county attorney, appeals law judge or district judge, don't you think it would be inviting a bigger lawsuit against ISU than we may already have? All we know for fact is that Leath reviewed the information provided from the county attorney and appeals law judge, who found the girl's story uncredible. That's all we know and any speculation beyond that is just more slander against BuBu.

If no one has anything new to add to this story, just review the old thread about this. Otherwise post below. I won't expect any posts (of substance).

There may be details that you and I don't know on both sides. Leath has insinuated to the media that BuBu has done something worse than other athletes at ISU who were not kicked off (at least one a convicted felon). There may very well be a trial and time will tell if there really is something else that Leath knows. And nobody is claiming BuBu is a sweet and innocent kid, he obviously got involved with the wrong girl (after she called him from the bars). But he is a kid that was a good athlete and good student that didn't get in trouble while at Ames High and ISU. In fact he's academic all Big 12. Still some have turned on him and want to believe a girl that we know tried to fabricate evidence to frame him.

Was your first quote not about the stuff that went on during last season? If things came out during that time, why did Fred play him last year?

Would you also post the policy on domestic assault, felony assault with a weapon, owi and gambling?
Don't know where those are. I just got this from the title IX training thing.

The whole thing is an absolute joke. I don't see how anyone can support Leath at this point.

No, its about the things that went on during the spring and the summer.

What new information about BuBu's case came out during the spring and summer? Even if there was something, wouldn't the appeals law judge have had this?
