wish bubu could play

Bubu's not playing because Fred doesn't want him playing. Period. If Fred wanted him on the floor and Leath said no it'd take a single leak and all of Cyclone Nation would be on Fred's side.

Agreed, if he was needed Fred would play him. I do not believe Fred is holding him out because he was told to. Fred knows this team better than anyone posting on here and he plays who he feels makes the team better.

Got to play against Ohio State too (NCAA tourney).
bilde

He was incredible against Ohio State. I do find it humorous that you chose this particular picture...

I think playing him at this point could be disruptive to the team. Plus, it is much more important that Matt and Naz, and the team as a whole get out of their 3 point shooting funk. With Matt and Naz, we are looking at the future. With Bubu.....there are a few games left.

Speaking of Bubu.....it is going to be interesting how they handle his situation on Senior Day. Does he get a photo and a framed jersey?

I have a hard time believing he would hurt the team in situations like Saturday. Nothing against Naz or Thomas but it wasn't their night. I don't blame them for continuing to shoot because thats what they are there to do, but it really couldn't have hurt to see what Bubu could do.

I agree, and Bubu's defensive play could be very helpful in the upcoming games.

If you have facts that can verify this point, great, otherwise you are simply expressing an opinion and it cannot be said who is making a final playing decision.

I'm with ya... Bubu doesn't play because Naz and Mat are better options for CFH.

From talking to someone close to the situation that's only partially true. And this late in the season it would probably be unfair to the team and Bubu to put him in there. But there is little doubt Fred was planning on BuBu being an important part of this year's team until Leath's late reversal of the judge's decision. As our only returning guard with Big 12 and NCAA experience he would have competed for a starting spot to begin the season and at this point would have at least been a key bench player as he was last year.

Who's he going to replace? DK, who can post up, drive to the rim, or shoot from outside, or Monte, who is on his way to setting an NCAA record for assist to TO ratio, all the while playing sound defense and adding a few baskets a game himself?

Having Bubu from the start would've been great. At this point, it's pointless. He hasn't played all season. The team has its' chemistry figured out already. He wouldn't contribute much. I haven't said much about this situation because I honestly don't know what to think. I just wish he never would've put himself in the situation he did, innocent or not.

The way it all turned out, right now, yes.

But had bubu never been off the team, and was fully eligible all season, he'd be a very key player to this team all year. Would we be better? Very hard to say, but he would be playing.

This ship has sailed. Move on already. There are 2 threads on the front page today about him. I personally would rather have more Weather or Best Pizza threads than this...enough please.

If Bubu plays, it will be because Hoiberg thinks he can contribute, not because he is benching Thomas or Long. Hoiberg is famous for letting guys play through their stuff, including shooters. I don't think anyone on this team ever has to apologize for taking an open 3. If they are in the game, it is because Hoiberg wants them to take open 3s.

Hoiberg doesn't want him playing, and neither do Pollard and Leath likely. Just because Bubu was ruled innocent or the case was dismissed doesn't mean he was totally innocent. Maybe there were things that he admitted to in court. The prosecutors didn't help their case by fabricating the evidence. That pretty much threw everything away there.

I was told today by a inside source which I can't reveal, Fred is saving bubu for a breakout performance in the NBA. Apparently the Minnesota Timberwolves signed a package deal for both Fred and bubu. Its essentially a done deal, expect a presser from JP soon.
