Oh Jamba I love you soo much haha since 90% of all in state rival threads are started by you.

Holy jesus now Iowa state players are tweeting about the Iowa crowd? Talk about obsession

LOL! Says the hawk fan who follows Iowa State players on twitter and posts on a cyclone message board.

.5 epic fail. Lucious' retweet was already posted in the thread. And I post here, but I'm not obsessed with ISU by any stretch. I just enjoy the conversation.

While it is a partial fail, there was a fail with the original statement he was replying too. No ISU player was tweeting about the game. Lucious just retweeted it.

How's that ban?

It must suck to suck.

It must suck to have to ban someone who is absolutely owning all of you. I'm not just saying this as an Iowa fan, I would not argue with Nixxxxxxxxxxx or however many "x's" there are, he's spot on, on everything. I guess it's okay to get a little butt-hurt.

Why is it such a big deal that the students get in free? Goodness you guys are pathetic.

I think @ 1:38am you're up hoping for some butt-hurt booty call from your roommate..

Nixxxx is spot on with a sh#t-stain maybe

Iowa has to BRIBE their students to show up. That is pathetic

Classic Jamba Juice. Why don't you come up with a new "burn"? Because the one you've got is more than just a little weak.

Didn't read the whole thread because I am lazy but I want to say the Big 10 is very overrated. Wisconsin should not be ranked 15th. Look at their best wins. BYU, UNLV, Indiana and maybe a Purdue. Every other game against ranked teams they lost.

How is that any different than Baylor?

Not much. Baylor is far more talented than Wisconsin, but Baylor isn't very disciplined. It's raw talent, and Drew isn't much of a game coach, IMO.

Baylor won't make it past the Sweet 16, IMO.

I agree.

Iowa has the greatest fans in the country. The students camped out all night and paid top dollar to see one of the darlings of college basketball

I guess I'll respond when I read every dopey reference to Duke and their free admission for students, and the dopey justifications trying to equate Duke's policy with what empty-suit Gary Barta pulls off.

riiiightt. Iowa literally begs students to come to their games. If Duke does it, it must be a great concept

duhhhhh

I really don't care how the AD gets students to the games at this point. Having 3-4k students in the house was likely the difference last night. That was an atmosphere that none of Iowa's players had experienced before. Carver hasn't rocked like that in years.

Getting that many students in the building and producing an exciting victory (twice now) is a great way to build excitement for next year. Iowa's done free admission before, only to lose (sometimes in embarrassing fashion). Now they're delivering when that spotlight is on them. Eventually we'll get to the point where free admission won't be necessary.

So trust me when I say that all the "burns" about free admission don't really bother me much. I like arguing for arguing's sake from time to time; but I can recognize an idiot when I see one.

I'm going to go ahead and guess you have never been part of a business.

I love arguing too. as for recognizing idiots, I say just avoid a mirror around your home, and you'll be good

I have heard and read for years how Iowa's attendance at all venues is superior to ISU and they have the greatest fans in the country.

blah blah blah

If ISU had to give away tickets, hot dogs, towels, ice cream, to thousands of student your legions of a-hole Iowa fans would be all over it.

You're the fricking idiot. Amazing when Iowa is in desperation mode to fill seats you people come up with "Duke does it". "Duke" and "Iowa" in the same sentence. LOL

what ever dude. keep justifying your superiority complex, like the rest of the a-hole Iowa media and fans--who are LOATHED throughout the midwest.

I'd appreciate it if you'd stop projecting all of your wild delusions about Iowa fans on EVERY Iowa fan. I've got no superiority complex when it comes to Iowa.

Sure, there would be Iowa fans who would go off on ISU if they were giving away free tickets. But if you paid any actual attention around here, you'd notice that the majority of Hawk poster on this site don't fit that description. But by all means, continue to paint us all with the same broad brush. And Iowa fans should have the license to project your inferiority complex on the rest of the ISU fanbase. It's the people like you who give ISU fans a bad name with Iowa fans (the Super Bowl comments, little brother, etc.).

I actually laughed out loud at this. Your house must be really big if it encompasses the entire midwest.

Well ISU did have to basically give away football tickets when the #2 ranked team in the nation came to Ames.

Multiple Ticket Options for Oklahoma State Game - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

Iowa State has extended its $11 reserved ticket special until 7 p.m. Fans can order tickets online at cyclones.com. More than 2,000 such seats were sold on Friday.

In addition the following offers are still available:

The Iowa State Four pack. For $40, fans get four hillside tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs.

The Faculty/Staff appreciation tickets are $10.

It is really hard to believe that free student tickets to a basketball game is that big of a deal to some (I realize a the vast majority couldn't care less and therefor don't even bother to chime in) clone fans. I would think the majority of ISU fans understand how difficult it can be to get fans at a game when the team hasn't been doing well the last few years, and why an athletic department would do promotions such as this.

I know as a kid (early 90's) I went to numerous games at JTC and basically got to stretch out and recline in the stands. Been to a few games in the last few years with friends (mostly opening Thursday night games since Iowa hadn't started yet) and been in the student section. A lot of empty rows at the top despite being the first game of the season. Couldn't speak for this year as I didn't make a ISU game, but I would imagine student attendance picked up as the excitement and production for the team has picked up. It is really not that hard to understand, better team = better attendance 90% of the time.

And personally, you can put me in the column of people that believe the $40 for 4 general admission tickets, 4 hot dogs, and 4 pops (basically $10 tickets and free hot dog and pop) for a football game in the same ballpark as free student tickets and pizza to a basketball game. I would think Iowa's athletic department could eat the $7-8 ticket for the students to try and get them interested again.
