After the Lickliter years you have to take different approaches to getting fans in the stands. It is working, and the team's performance will make those approaches less and less necessary.
Iowa has not done that during Kirk's tenure at Iowa. That was a basketball thing created a few years ago to try to bring in fans to watch Lickliter's teams self-destruct every night.
Keep making up things though.

First of all those hot dogs and soda probably actually cost about $1.50 cents total per person. Second of all, free is infinitely less than any numerical value, whatever it is. Added to the fact that Iowa also got ice cream, towels, and hot dogs or whatever tonight and it is even worse. Add that to the fact that the deal was for sitting in the grass on a chilly november night compared to sitting in a seat in a heated basketball arena.
I have said nothing about Wisconsin's players. Also, no way I would choose Gatens over Babb or Allen. Allen is a better scorer and Babb's defense is tops in the Big12 maybe even in NCAA. Gatens is a good player though and I'm not saying that he wouldn't see minutes. You are also coming off as a pretty big ****** bag with those comments.

That was me. I noted that Wisconsin always seems to have one good black player surrounded by white players. I was joking, but was thinking of the Alando Tucker teams and this years Jordan Taylor team. Plus that year Kammron Taylor was good. Actually it's true, but I don't want to get into arguments with Hawk fans about whether ******* Greg Stiemsma was a role player.

How is Allen better on offense? He has more weapons around him and manages to shoot 37%? Gatens is the focal point of the defense every single night and still shoots 48%?

I believe they do and from what I've heard their students are so complacent and used to winning that they can't even fill their student section.
But there is a large distinction between a blue blood basketball program letting students in free as a principle and letting students in for free begging for them to attend because otherwise the student section would be empty.

I'll say this much: I don't give a flying **** how desperate it may look; having 3-4k students in the building makes an ENORMOUS difference, and I'll take them any way I can get them at this point. Carver hasn't rocked like that since the '05-'06 season.
