Will you please explain....

Quite frankly, I don't care if we don't fill up our stadium for every game, as long as its 95% full on average, I'm fine. This leaves room for the big games and to added revenue that those games bring.

Theres the thing. Most of us see our stadium on gameday, and see the corners. Most tv shots you barely see those, you usually just see the lower decks on the camera shots. On top of that, when you do see the upper decks, i dont know how many times ive seen open corner seats. I saw them at the boise state game tonight, and theyre about to do a 20k seat expansion.

Yeah but wikipedia sucks.
It also said the Iowa Hawkeyes had won the B10 5 year in a row at one point.....

Maybe we should change it to say they've won the national championship every year since 1776? I think I've got the subject for that thread about the hawks now!

I'm pretty sure that our ticket prices are average in the big 12. In end zone, but also to pay the coaches, small facilities upgrades and so forth.
I generally think everything is too high priced in life, except for my salary!

and who says it has to be each and every game? NOBODY waits to build more until theyre selling out every single game. And actually, EVERY game this year we have had 43k or more. Last year we had 43k or more in all but 2 games. In 08 it was all but one. You leave money on the table when you dont build to actual capacity, and its far past time that we stopped using overflow seating when we consistently meet or exceed our actual seating capacity.

Evidently ISU is waiting. Just saying. 43K is along way from 55k. talk to me when ISU can put 55K in JTS each game. Not to mention bowling in the endzone does not increase capacity. So they would not even be building to capacity. You have no point. I'm glad the powers at be at ISU see it the way I do.

Theres your problem. They dont see it the way you do. They're going to put it in as soon as they have the money to build it. The money isnt there right now.

As far as '55k in JT each game'... NOBODY builds their stadiums to their minimum attendance. You typically build to a level near your highest end.

I've been saying this from day one. Nice back pedal on your part. And yes they do see it my way. Otherwise they would have bowled it in already like you keep crying about.

Evidently ISU does. This is exactly where ISU is at today. You keep talking in circles. If bowling in the endzone doesn't increase capacity how does that help building towards the highest end? You make no sence. Once again I am happy that ISU is being smart about this and not getting all emotional and blowing money. Step up and write the check.

No, they dont. You dont see the need for it. They do. Seeing the need for it and having the money to do it are two completely different things. They are working to get the funds to do it though.

Yeah you guys are right, this looks stupid! :jimlad:

Please show me where I have stated that I don't see I need for it. I have only stated that under the circumstances with the current budget it would be foolish at this time and money is better spent on other items. ISU agress with this.

Keep putting words in my mouth that you are unable to back up.

So it at least looks like a D1 stadium. These kids from Texas play in stadiums not much smaller than the Jack. Our stadium is one hit on our FB program.

I agree with the 'so it looks like a BCS stadium' part... but the whole thing about it being barely bigger than a texas high school stadium is way exaggerated. They have some impressive high school stadiums down there, i've been to a few of the nicest ones, but none of them come close in capacity to JTS. The largest, Alamo Stadium, has a capacity of 23,000.

And please, everyone who's been on this site more than a week knows you're against the idea of bowling in the stadium. I dont need to spend the time going back through your posts on this.

It's not because you don't have the time. It's pretty clear you have the time as witnessed from the time you waste on here. It's because you can't find any post that I made by me that states that I am categorically against bowling in the S. endzone. You will never find any post that states I am against this. Why you feel compelled to say I am against this but then can't show it is beyond me. Better to keep your mouth shut really.

I have always been in favor when/if conditions are such that would support it being done. Namely increase in attendence and a winning football program. I have stated this multiple times. You keep going on and on but can't back up the crap you say.

Don't get all upset at me just because JP and ISU are seeing things the same way I have seen them all along.

No, i am not going to do it because i have no need to. I know what you said, this whole board knows what you've said. Someone can't say 'south bowl' without you coming in and dropping a comment into the thread about how it is a bad idea.

Speaking of not being able to back up what you say, back up where the AD is saying theyre not going to do this purely because we're not winning and dont have 55k at every game. They havent. It will come later because we do not have the funds for it at this time. Nothing more, nothing less. If a lead donor stepped up tomorrow with sufficient lead gift, this project would find its timeframe pushed back to the top of the list very quickly, regardless of wins or current attendance.

You say this like we have the money for it right now, and the only reason it isn't being built right now is because (in your opinion) it doesn't make sense to build it until attendance goes up. That is obviously false. We have nowhere near enough money to build it right now. The second we do, Jamie will be getting a presentation put together for the Regents regardless of whether we're averaging 55k or 42k. So no, ISU does not agree with you.

Crikets.

You know, you cant go back, edit your post, add stuff, and expect a response to the new stuff, right? Kinda lame to do that and then quote your own post.
