You would have to think we would be ranked after beating Iowa and the Big East Champ on the road. The UNI game (although we won and we all understand the UNI is decent team but the nation doesn't) would be distant past. I hope we get to find out.

Not sure. I would like to see us hit #25....but I feel like we will get plenty of votes if we win..and if we beat Texas we will jump in.
Everytime we talk about getting ranked something stupid happens.......There is a lot of history to back that up.
Agree that we should worry about winning first before we talk about what our ranking will be should we win.

Yep, have to beat a national brand-name team before being ranked. And it's not a given that ISU is going to win tonight, so let's just watch this game and cross our fingers.
ISU had two votes in the last coaches' poll. That's it. UCONN won the Big East last year, but the ONLY reason that happened was Todman, and he's gone.
If ISU is still undefeated after the Texas game, they will certainly be ranked. But beating UCONN isn't going to make a big enough statement.

You don't go from receiving two votes in the previous week's poll to being rated unless you make a top 10 team look foolish. UConn ain't a top 10 team. I don't even think they were a rated team last year.
I wish people would stop being scared/impressed with the fact that UConn represented the Big East in the BCS last year. They backed their way into that conference championship because nobody else wanted to claim it. I think they've got the worst record of any team to make a BCS game. And they're a worse team this year than they were last year.
