Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Doctors, in a hospital situation, are rarely involved in the billing and coding. It is the CFO, controller or and A/R clerk that codes invoices to insurance companies and the gov't.

Not always true but true enough. But a lot of the billing and coding depends on the diagnose and level of care. Both of which come from the doctor.

Lol this is so dumb. So they are essentially talking about moving up their spring start date. They still aren't going to be on a schedule that would put them in line with the P3, CFP.

Good for them and their fans that they might not have to wait until the spring, I guess. This isn't going to patch up their PR issues with the media or their own fans. It's just getting more embarrassing for them.

They are looking for a small change they can point to as the "radical change" so they have a fig leaf to cover their nakedness when they change course from their blunder.

things can change but it still seems more likely to me that they don't start until January

Much is being made of this but it doesn't really look like they're actually changing much, barring a radical change in status

Just heard a guy on the radio- basically the b1g wanted to float the idea of starting thanksgiving weekend, expecting the other P5s to fall in line. Because that worked so well a couple weeks ago. They were immediately told by the SEC to go pound sand. And here we are again. They may never learn.

This is a coaches meeting?

They have no power to decide anything, right? They would have never canceled the season if it was up to the coaches.

This seems like conspiracy theory level talk tbh.

honestly none of this seems like anything more than a few loudmouth millionaire coaches who never really had any decision making authority to begin with pushing this. The presidents made their decision and don't seem to have really changed that

**** the Big10. The rest of college football should not follow their bad decisions. Also, if they move up their schedule by a month, the rest of college football should not wait to have a national champion. They brought this on themselves.

Looks like Scott Frost floating some ideas to media members.

SF: 'Scott Frost thinks we need to play some football. Look at Scott Frost's championship ring. Isn't it shiny? Did I ever tell you about Scott Frost's Central Florida team?'

Yeah, if they're going to do this they need to either start in late september/early october. Otherwise, just commit to the spring season (which I still think means cancel). Starting in late November is basically going to get you the worst option

I'm curious how many other schools are doing a schedule like Iowa State is where they will be done at Thanksgiving break.

Maybe there could be some benefit to starting in late November and fitting in a bunch of games during the period between Thanksgiving and when school starts again in mid-January if that makes bubbling things up easier?

Starting in November would be the dumbest option.... so therefore likely for them.

Seriously though, if you delay to Spring because it’s too bad in August, it doesn’t matter about testing as November and December are when things are expected to turn really ugly.

They would be better off standing on the ground they’ve cornered themselves into so they at least come across as principled. If they move it up, after stating all the original risks, they are going to have massive legal exposure if things go sour.

Watched a high school game on TV last night between Omaha Westside and Creighton Prep (domination by Westside, 42-0). But, more importantly, over 500+ fans in stands, distanced, in mask the whole time. 259 of 266 Nebraska high schools will play this week-end...all with fans. BIG can't get out of its own shadow...

For the conspiracy believer I have nothing as there will always be another “but...”. I can tell you that there is no widespread conspiracy among doctors. They are too busy and have other things to worry about. It is true that the HOSPITAL is paid somewhat more for TREATING a Covid patient than a similar non Covid illness. This was part of the CARES act and helps in a few ways. 1) hospitals were financially gutted during the shut down, especially small ones. No surgery for a month in current payment structures is a near death blow. A lot of small hospitals operate on margins <2%. 2) Helps in taking care of the uninsured which Covid is hitting harder. 3) helps cover the increased cost of PPE, staffing (don’t want your Covid nurse caring for non-Covid if possible), increased health needs these patients have, increased cleaning, and in some cases hazard pay. Most doctors are paid either salary or by RVU or a combination. In none of these cases would their income be affected by a Covid patient or Covid death. Putting them on a ventilator could raise their RVU but do you honestly think doctors are putting people on vents for more money? That would be like getting paid to beat your head into the wall. I know hundreds of doctors from all political backgrounds. I am sure somewhere, somehow, there are a few finding a way to milk the system. Bad people exist. But, it isn’t widespread.
I literally never said anywhere that it was a conspiracy with doctors. I don't believe that at all. I know full well why, and have even have had it confirmed among medical friends, why doctors are labeling someone of these deaths as Covid for the primary cause or even the secondary. It was about getting the money after non essential surgeries and services were stopped. Hospitals were hurting badly for money.

The SEC with generally milder climates would maybe make sense for a late start. Upper midwest in December?

Might as well have everyone run the wishbone again.
