Will the BIG10 Reverse Their Decision?

Not necessarily. My nephew caught it and my sister and BIL are quarantined with him. They are more upset because they forced him to be home for ten days and her and my BIL for 14 with no symptoms or anything.

What's the other response in that situation that lowers the risk of it spreading if it's recommended to not get tested, but you can still spread it with no symptoms?

They would get tested but weren’t allowed. I think that is what bothers her. Give her an up or down so she knows. Just dont put them in a house and say sit there.

Gotcha. This is also where I get hung up.

They're saying to stay away from testing if you don't have symptoms just to make sure you're not infected, which makes sense financially as it costs something like $100 for them to run a test, but then in order to be able to know if you should ACTUALLY stay home, a repeated test would be needed.

Does nobody remember January, Feburary when this thing first came on the scene? The lockdowns were temporary to "flatten the curve" to make sure we had enough medicines, ventilators and PPE equipment. But it was made clear, unless an effective vaccine came to market--we would never get rid of this virus. In fact, I remember distinctly at a press conference Dr Birx saying they expected as high as 60-70% of Americans would get infected.

Somehow we've lost the hard cold reality of this virus. Nature is a *****--we're going to have to learn how to live with it.

Remember when the Union thought that the Civil War would only last for a few weeks? Guess what? Things change. Reality changes. When it comes to health and the safety and economy of a nation like the USA you better hope that the goalposts move because if they don’t no one is doing their jobs.

you guys are arguing about something that you don’t understand. Old age CANNOT be listed as the cause of death. Neither can cardiac arrest, or fatal arrhythmia. All these are too generic and the computer system immediately rejects them. Sometimes when someone just finds a dead 90 year old in bed you just have to guess. Really! You aren’t gonna autopsy 90 year olds unless foul play is suspected or the family is wasting money paying for one. A 97 year old that does with a positive Covid test is gonna be listed as Covid, just like they’d be listed as Influenza if that test was positive. Wouldn’t matter if he was 117. Same with someone withterminal cancer. If they are on hospice for the cancer and get influenza and die then influenza gets listed on their death certificate. It might be influenza as a result of “blank” cancer but it’s gonna be listed. Same for Covid. You can hate the system but THAT is the system. There isn’t some grand doctor conspiracy filling out death certificates.

Then explain to me the stuff I read that said Covid generally weakens your lugs and pneumonia usually takes over and finished the person off. Why don’t we see this huge pneumonia death tally instead of Covid?

Because pneumonia is just a symptom that can be caused by a number of infections? So it's still covid?

Curious if pneumonia is in the computer?

yes, ideally specified as bacterial or viral and if bacterial what kind. Not always possible but they like it specific. In regards to Secondary pneumonia with Covid it would get listed as secondary bacterial pneumonia as a result of Covid 19. Covid would still get listed just like if they got pneumonia and had influenza, influenza would get listed.

it gets listed as secondary bacterial pneumonia as a result of Covid-19. Same would happen if it was pneumonia while they had influenza. Both listed. When you are looking for Covid related deaths it would qualify.

I mean, if you consider death to be the cessation of all biological function in an organism than there are organs and cells that continue to function long after the brain and heart stop.

I’m not going to get into all that. Simply pointing out the facts of filling out death certificates which most people assume they know about but really don’t.

Well if this is how people react than schools and football will be in trouble. Because this is either pure incompetence or really weak. Well I can't find a link but some Iowa school is quarantining a volleyball team because a girl tested positive for the ANTI-BODIES.

Can you still be contagious if you have antibodies? Because otherwise unless she's positive for Covid too the people making those decisions need to inform themselves about what having abs means. I had to relearn many things but it's pretty easy to find these days.

Just saw some local Doc last night still spouting concerns about waning abs and immunity vs. the recent reinfection reports, when it's been out there for a while about T-cell response.

Isn't small town Iowa just precious?
