I meant we were selected after them.
I understood. The bowls don't have to go by conference standings but OSU finished ahead of us in conference standings so generally they would be selected before us.

Never understood the Armed Forces / First Responder bowl pick rotation and hoped this year might demonstrate how it worked. Figured it was First Responder year. But would appear neither picked WVU???
Via Twitter ESPN facilitated a "trade" where WVU is playing in the Duke's Mayo Bowl in what is an SEC bowl slot.

I’d have taken that over ours.
I'm not a giant fan of Memphis and the Liberty Bowl but I would definitely take that over Shreveport on December 16th. Have heard awful things about Shreveport and it's difficult to get to.

There’s nothing to do in Memphis or Shreveport. Shreveport at least has a more interesting opponent

Come on now, there is significantly more to do in Memphis than Shreveport. And while Cal has the P5 name they play a boring brand of football. Memphis is the more intersting opponent.

I’m guessing that WV is testing the waters for that bowl. We did that for the first liberty bowl we were in.

I've been advocating for a bowl draft for a long time.

It's another one of those collective action problems that won't be resolved properly until college football is brought under a single umbrella.
Would’ve been a whole lot more interesting to watch than five guys bloviating about the CFP teams for two hours.

For the bowls that remain after the change in format, a rule should be put in place that no team can play in its home stadium, and not closer than 150 miles from their campus unless it is a playoff/NY6 bowl game.
