Will Clyburn & Korie Lucious Hype Thread

With him, Lucious and the squad we have coming back, I expect that our offense will be radically different next year, with or without Royce. I can only imagine what Luciuos, Clyburn, Royce, Ejim and Babb will be able to do on the break.

I think next year will look a lot more like Fred wants Hoiball to look

I do think (concurring also with Cymaniac) -- Fred wants to run & gun.

Getting the half-court defense established this season, then adding what look like serious fast-breakers to the roster — exciting blueprint.

I agree. more athletic and we will have a true PG that can lead the fast break
This will sound like it's out of left field, but I could see some minutes where we really try to push the tempo ala Missouri.... Lucious (point)Bubu (combo) -or- McGee -or- the best of the FR guardsBabb (wing)Clyburn (wing)Royce (post)**Please God, let Royce stay for one more year and then let him be a top 10 pick**

I could See that in certain situation. And im praying with u brotha!

An hopefully a point guard that can stop the ball on opponents fast break opportunities. Man we got scorched a lot this season by quick guards that forced the issue on us.

Agree. If KL can keep the other team's PG in front of him more often than not, we're already ahead for next year.

How about if Royce does stay
Lucious
Ejim
Clyburn
Babb
White
or
Lucious
Clyburn
White
Gibson
Ejim or Babb
We could go on all day about a starting line up if White stays and OH MAN THE POSSIBILITIES. Excited anyone, even if he decides to leave wow man!!!

I'll remember that Fred said before the season that Clyburn was the best NBA prospect on the team.

I remember Hoiberg saying this multiple times too. Again, don't forget about Niang too. I've watch a few of his games on ESPN and the dude is a POLISHED baller. He is honestly one of the most mature, ready to play college ball immediately, Seniors I've seen. While big man projects like Gibson and Hamilton are more the norm, there are a few big men like I feel Niang is, that will play solid right away. On the flip side of Niang, while he is very mature and polished already, his body may limit his top side of ever being a pro type player, but just a great college player. I don't want to project out that far yet though either. That is harder to guess and I don't want to limit anyone.

Yeah, that's my hesitation about Georges as well. On the other hand, he has phenomenal hands/body sense (kinesthetic awareness?), that I haven't seen at ISU since Victor Alexander. And Georges works MUCH harder.

I am so hyped for next year! With or without Royce they should be a good team, but Im confident that Royce will be coming back. no way he would go unless he is a for sure first round pick, because only first rounders are guaranteed any money and the latest 2012 mock draft and Royce isnt even listed.
So cmon guys give me some rep :notworthy:

Man it would be sweet to have two first round picks on the same team to go along with all of our other key guys.

i'm excited about the length Clyburn will bring to both offense and defense. Plus, i believe that Lucious will be a stud next year, hope he really brings a hunger to the court and practices like CA did this year.

I am excited for these two talent student-athletes.
Don't forget the hype to see an improved Ejim, Babb, McGee, Booker, Bubu, and hopefully White.

I had Karin Hoiberg, CFH mother, as a teacher in the 5th grade in Ames. She was my favorite. Great job with the son Karin!

I can honestly say I have never been this excited for an ISU basketball season and I have been here for 20 years+ Going to games when Sullivan, Fizer, Brackins, Tinsley, etc. were the stars. Can't wait to see what happens next year. Royce needs to stay, watching him with the ball is always entertaining. If he works his mid game definitely a 1st round pick for the 2012-2013 draft

Imagine having two NBA prospects in Royce/Clyburn on the same team, great position players in Ejim/Babb/Lucious, backed up with the depth we would have in Booker/Gibson/Niang!

Kinda like the team we just played in the NCAA Tournament, huh?

I'm probably most excited to see what Ejim will be like next year.

Personally I'm most excited / curious to see how Niang translates to the college game. He's a really unique player and person. I actually think there's a slight chance he starts over Ejim at the 4. Not because he's better than Mel or means more to the team, but I think Ejim can be a TREMENDOUS 6th man, where he comes in and changes the flow and character of the game. Probably won't happen, but what is the offseason for if not mindless speculation
