I am not disputing the story about Will Blalock having a stroke, but wonder why it never seemed to hit the sports press, even the local sports people at the Tribune weren't aware he had a stroke. Anyone know why it is not sports news here in Iowa?

Any further info on him, anyone? :wideeyed:

I have no clue. I remember hearing about it, but I can't find anything about it either. I went ot the anahiem arsenal website and they mention nothing about it. He is also still listed on their roster, so I don't know if it was some made up rumor a poster made, or if there is any truth to it.

The press here in Iowa never got ahold of this because they could not get ahold of Will. Regarding 'googling' his name and the stroke and further news, beats me, but he is in a lot better shape. Currently works at a fitness center and is expecting a return to the court within the next 1-2 months.

Yeah, I am just kind of surprised that more news agencies wouldn't have picked up on it.

It was mentioned on Channel 5 with John Walters when it happened. Last I heard Will was not cleared to play this season, I believe he needed 6 or 9 months of rehab with no competitive play. He was doing well, no side effects just precautionary measures.

What I am curious about is why the Anahiem Arsenals didn't put anything about it on thier website? Usually when a player on the team goes through something like this, they let the fans know about it....

Doesn't matter. It's still big news just from a perspective that as an organization, your player had something occur that can be life threatening..

My thought was the NBDL is so unorganized that they don't post stories like that. It was after the season I believe as Will was headed to a work out in Seattle.

Most NBDL teams websites don't update very often and it can be difficult to even find a box score.
