Wigginton declaring for NBA Draft, not hiring agent

The most amusing moments are when purported “in the know” posters on here and trolling each other with conflicting information.

I’ve always been worried that Wigginton won’t return but I’ve been seeing more people lately joining in on that thought. Did I miss something or are people just starting to worry because he still hasn’t withdrawn?

This would be a devastating loss for next year. I am really not that confident we can make a return to the NCAA tournament without him. I don’t believe we’d have enough shooting or a big time scorer.

I think people are overreacting to the fact that he hasn't pulled out of the draft yet. Why not work out for as many teams as you can. I cannot imagine LW and the people around him would leave the potential opportunities on the table at iowa state and a chance to move into the 1st round next year to play on the G league. That will be there the next 3 years. You only get 1 chance at the draft.

This place is gonna go CF levels of crazy in about a week regardless of decision

It would be a total ISU thing if we finally had a player on our roster that was good enough to be a "one and done", but we didn't get any rewards from it at all as far as team success goes for that one year.

Normally you hear people say..... "I'm fine if he leaves after one year, that means we probably had a great season." Nope. Not at ISU. We get the worst of both worlds.

Couple things are interesting...he’s had 6 total workouts..not sure what other 2 are but Suns, lakers, Clippers, Hawks..are what i’ve Seen. 7-10 was what Prohm was saying earlier..

I just find it very hard to believe that a 6’2 undersized SG, freshman, who didnt get a combine invite, would get drafted. But who knows maybe he blew people away.

As for the “if we lose LW we won’t return to NCAA’..Uhm..Shayok and THT say hi. We return basically everyone and gain who will be a stud in Shayok and a freshman in THT who might actually have as good or bettter frosh year than LW did. Also have Jacobsen who will be a much needed improvement over Brase. LW stays and we could compete for big 12...losing him and this team has talent to make the NCAA.

Pants announcement was the only reason I started to question. Outside him and a couple others I usually don't worry about it.

IF (I'm not saying it will) his % goes down, I think the absence of Donovan Jackson could be a reason. LW got great looks last year due to teams having more fear for DJ, that combined with teams not treating him as a 3pt threat made things much easier last year. He'll get more attention this year.
That's my biggest worry for Lindell. We need our second or third guard on the floor to be a greater shooter, otherwise we can't stretch the floor and execute our offense. You could see it at times last year, coupled with the thin front court, was not pretty.

It doesn't really matter if we don't think he'll get drafted, it's all about what he's being told. If there are teams basically guaranteeing him that if he's available they will be taking him in the 2nd round, that's all that matters.

However, being taken in the 2nd round is a total crapshoot. Doesn't guarantee a player anything.

Also I think if last year's team stays healthy we'd have at least been an NIT team, possibly even on the bubble. Injuries were a factor for last year's team in a negative way.

We're probably a bubble team without Wiggs, but possibly a Sweet Sixteen team with him IMO. That's a BIG difference.

Isn’t Wigginton an alternate for the combine? He needs to wait and see what happens because anything can happen.

So you're telling me I can work out for a few more teams, use their facilities, get introduced to executives I can network with, get coached by professional coaches, find out what they want from a future prospect, AND possibly work my way to get drafted but I only have until May 30th to do it? Ya I'm gonna drag this one out a bit.
