Wigginton declaring for NBA Draft, not hiring agent

He will flat out make a bunch of money next year if and when he does go pro.

I totally see why he would go.... But I do hope he stays.

Maybe he thinks he has his best chance to get a two way deal this year. Maybe there is a team that really likes him. He has a ton to prove by coming back but he also shot 40% from 3 as a freshman and will probably go down next year and he'll be a year older. I expect him to come back but two way deals complicate things IMO
Why do you think it will go down? If it does, I would think having the percentage from 3 go down a few points would affect his status much less than proving he can lead a team from the point. And he wouldn't have to start at the point to prove that. He simply would have to be able to make the club go when asked to step into that role and prove he can guard NBA level point guards. Teams want that step, athleticism and shot - they just need to be able to see that they will have a position on the floor for him that he can handle if they do decide to take him.

I think his 3 pt % is way more likely to go down than go up but that's just my personal opinion. I agree there is a lot more to gain coming back IMO

Nader didn't get a combine invite, but still got drafted. Granted, Nader also didn't have the option to come back, either.

It depends on what he's heard from these teams he's worked out with. If he's 50/50 right now, he had to have heard something he liked from at least one of them. Plus, there is good money to be made in Europe. Obviously not NBA money, but you can be pretty successful playing basketball over there.

My hunch is that he comes back for another year, but i wouldn't consider it a bad decision if he decided to go.

IF (I'm not saying it will) his % goes down, I think the absence of Donovan Jackson could be a reason. LW got great looks last year due to teams having more fear for DJ, that combined with teams not treating him as a 3pt threat made things much easier last year. He'll get more attention this year.

Still makes me frustrated that they can wait til May 29th to decide. A lot of good transfers have already committed elsewhere thinking ISU had no room or at least an open position where they could start or thrive in. (Like a Mooney, for example)

Yeah let's make student athletes rush arguably the biggest decision of their lives so we can recruit to replace them in case they leave

Prohm said 50/50? I’m not buying that Prohm told anyone at tailgate tour 50/50.

Wts, LW stays in draft then he got really bad info bc he’s not getting drafted and if there’s any chance you could be a 1st rd pick next year then you stay.

LW himself has said publicly he has no desire to play in G league and especially overseas. You go over seas you ain’t coming back to nba.

Avg pro career is like 6-7 years..and over seas they ain’t making $500k year.. most aren’t. You get one shot at getting drafted...one.

How did Nader rank on the pre-draft boards compared to LW?

If I recall Nader was in top 80-90 on lists but Nader is ideal 3 in nba with great measureables..

And he spent first 2 years in G league.

Truly want what’s best for LW and the allure of putting on nba jerseys and everyone saying how good u played etc can seem like well im gonna make it etc..

Then reality sets in on draft day. Hope he makes right call for him.

Get that. Never said it was ridiculously 'wrong' but as a fan we can still be frustrated.... with nba guidelines and rules when if affects the college programs.

I believe it was just 1 as a full time player in the G league. He tore it up in his first year and earned an NBA contract from that.

If there is any time between the end of the season and the date to pull out of the draft there is going to be the same issue. If they move it up 3 weeks most of the transfers will probably be gone three weeks earlier.

It sucks having undergrad players that the NBA may consider drafting. (insert jimlad here)

The information Prohm has may be 50/50 because he may just know Lindell may go and may not. Where Lindell is may be very different than 50/50 but that is his business.

I will be surprised if he goes this year, but I won't be shocked.

That is just Prohm saying that. Him saying 50/50 is a good way to answer the question without really revealing anything. I'm not sure if he actually believes .

Yeah, to add to that, it doesn't benefit Lindell in any way to say that he's probably coming back. If teams think that other teams might be interested, it may heighten their interest as well. Leaving that possibility out there is all for the positive.

I'm not putting much stock into the "50/50" quote. Not making the combine was a big indicator imo. The weak draft class in 2019 gives Lindell a good shot at the 1st round if he makes the necessary improvements to his game. Further on this point, Kevin Huerter was one of the most impressive players at the combine and some are still speculating he may wait until next year to try and move up into the lottery.

Lindell is old for his class but coming out with a best case scenario of mid/late 2nd round or the promise of a two-way deal just doesn't seem like a choice you make after year 1. Would be a more logical move for an older player.

It looks here like Monte's 2 way deal salary was $75,000.00. Is that right? Do you get different compensation for your time on the NBA squad?

2 way deals sound great and all, but if you're only making $75,000 how do you not take the risk of one more year in school and try to sneak into the 1st round?
