ISU's 3 point percentage: 13.6% (3-22)
Kentucky's 3 point percentage: 50.0% (10-20)

Definitely killed us. UK was automatic and we couldn't hit it to save our life. It would have been a completely different game if we could have made our typical number and if they wouldn't have had one of their best 3 pointer games of the year.

Was going to make a thread about this, but I thought it was pretty obvious. Even if we shot our average on 3's, and Kentucky STILL shot lights out, it would have been a very close game at the end

They would have been an almost impossible matchup for anyone the way they shot tonight.

Totally. Iowa State played well enough to win this game. But the shots didn't fall. Even with Kentucky being so hot, ISU could have won this game if they would have also been hot. They played their *** off and they played well enough to win.

Absolute killer.

I was impressed by ISU's scrappiness, decent adjustments after timeouts during runs, and after halftime, and being able to go a little off-****** (going hard to the bucket and drawing fouls, not relying on the 3 after it got shut down).

Kentucky couldn't miss in the second half. And almost nobody could hit a 3 for Iowa State.

Just looked it up and ISU shoots around 38% from three point land on average.

If ISU shot average, add 16 points to the score.

Was just going to make this point. If we make just 5 or 6 more of those 3's we would have been 9 for 22 and the whole game changes. Can also say that if UK shot their average it also would have been a different game. Instead we shoot way below our average (partly due to UK's D) and UK shoots way above their average. That's a deadly combo when playing a team that's been the best in the nation all year long.

If ISU did beat UK all the national publications would talk about how UK lost the game and ISU win. Now switch roles and all the they will talk about is how amazing UK is.

If this game would have fallen in line with the regular season stats it would have been a close game. UK is good but they are not godlike.
