Why I hate Apple stores

Sounds like they did a good job for you. I love my apple. I think I am gonna get a Macbook Pro this fall, too. It's good to be in the club ;)

Overpriced and crappy service.... yep that's apple.
I'm still using a creative labs mp3 player for almost 3+ years. At the time it was about $50 cheaper that the comparable model to ipod. I don't think I know a single person that has their same mp3 player from that long ago that has the apple logo on it.
Apple = Trash

I love them for getting some of the new technology out their, but their sheep followers need to wake up from time to time and at least recognize that they are not the best.

Hm... I'm NOT a HUGE apple guy... and just saying, I still have my ipod from.... idk... 4 years ago or so. It still works great. I use it everyday during my workout and usually at work or at home... In fact, I'm listening to it right now...

I would wait 45 minutes for a brand new one that worked.

Let's use Microsoft as an example of a similar company. Try getting a brand new Xbox 360 in 45 minutes after you get the RROD. If it doesn't happen they day you bring it home from the store, it's going to take a lot longer than that. I once waited a month for my refurb 360 to come back only to find out, they forgot to fix the refurb before sending it out to me.

I understand it sucks, having to wait at all for something that simple, but that's the way our society has become. Honestly, if you are that upset, you can start to solve the problem by not buying their products anymore. We are so rushed to criticize companies anymore, but people still keep buying the stuff. The way to get them to fix the problem of them breaking them is to force them to make a solid product. That won't happen when hordes of people keep buying what they put out. Kind of reminds me of people who listen to sports radio then constantly ***** about it.

Do Apple computers have a right-mouse button yet? I don't use Apple products because they don't make anything I need but I'm curious if they've moved beyond one mouse button.

They have to pay for the Mac vs PC advertising campaign how!

Ill be ready for those to end soon. The commercials are getting less effective. They are just dumb. Come on Apple, you are "innovators", innovate a damn new commercial.

I never said Best Buy was the poster child for good customer service. I never buy anything there so I can't compare their customer service.

My beef is that the sales guy and the tech performed the exact same thing. Why couldn't I just stand in line to begin with? Why do I need to talk to a sales guy and then wait 45 minutes to talk to someone else who tries the exact same thing.

Imagine if the same thing happened to you car.

#1 Car has a bulge in the tire

#2 You take the car into the dealer and they force you to talk to a salesperson who says "Have you tried to pump up the tire". Yes, I have. He then tries to pump up the tire but there is still a bulge. He then tells you that you'll need to wait 45 minutes for the service guy to look at your tire.

#3 You wait 45 minutes and the service guy comes out and looks at your tire. "Have you tried to pump it up". Yes, I have. He then tries to pump it up but there is still a bulge. He then decides that I need to replace my tire.

It's not a life or death situation and I've had a lot worse customer service but it just seems like a stupid concept to me as far as service goes.

I'm probably just mad that 2 out of the 3 apple products I've used have now broke and sooner or later the warranty runs out. I'm probably also mad that Itunes seems to be the only program on my PC that causes me issues.

I've left all my music in MP3 format so the next time I decide to buy another player it should be easy to move away from Apple.

I have to agree. What the OP is complaining about actually seems like good customer service to me.

I wouldn't call it good customer service. Good customer service is letting the sales reps give replacement ipods since there apparently isn't much they can do to fix them. It's still better customer service than most places, though.

Yes, they have for a while. The mighty mouse (which comes with the desktops) has a right button, but it just doesn't look like it. If you click on the right side of the mouse, it is a right-click button. Same goes for the notebooks now. I think mine (bought in 2007) was the last generation without the right click (other than holding control while you click, which is the same thing).

i just hate it because I feel like such a ****** walking in there and having to try to deal with all the douchy people in there, and someone trying to sell software because it makes swooshy noises and no right mouse button.

See the previous post. They've innovated a right-mouse button!

I would argue that they wouldn't be qualified enough to help Apple make money with 'giving out' replacement ipods.

sounds to me that the system in place is efficient. You first talk to the gate keeper (sales rep), it doesn't take much to get past the gate (key point here), then wait for a short while to get to a tech heavy repair guy, and get the issue resolved.

The only part that could be upsetting is the 45 minute wait. But the cool thing there was you didn't have to wait in line.. you could have went somewhere else for that time and came back for you appointment.

And I totally get it if you are letting off steam that a new product shouldn't have failed you so early.

-keep.

The Apple store has morphed into a computer "The Buckle". I said it.

That frustration I can understand - why even bother with a sales person when you obviously need service, not sales.

That's a bit like going through the new car dept at the dealer to get your oil changed.

You could have. Before you even went in, you could have made an appointment online, walked to the genius bar at your appointment time, and only had to deal with the one guy. He would have done the reset check, and given you your new iTouch.
