WHOOOOOO!!!!

Here is my take. This was an extreme learning game for our young guys. They made some huge mistakes but it will make them better players. Not sure why we didnt utilize the receivers more but oh well. As for Toledo, I dont like all of the bashing saying they arent a very good team and we should have destroyed them. Did you all watch the game? Toledo had precision and played like a gelled professional team. You can tell that they "get it" The fact we made it out alive shows our determination to not look stupid to everyone again. I will definitely keep in eye on Toledos season. They looked great. As for the overtimes, im glad we came out on top. In OT teams are tired and want to be done so it comes down to who wants it more and apparently we did. Meyer didnt shake, he stood his ground and made it happen. There were alot of proud moments and glimmers of hope for the season. Rashawn Parker was my hero. That guy played with some tenacity, something like Berryman did and it was stellar considering he is a freshman.

Toledo looked to be coached better than a well coached Clone team. We had more mistakes in the end. Yet, Toledo had 16 returning starters and in the end we never caved in.

The gameplan for Toledo looked better - that was why he was 39 for 49. Is 39 completions in record in our stadium?

Accoclades to Alvin Bowen and Rashon Parker who steped it up at the end. Especially Parker on the blitzes.

Hope our coaches become less conservatibve in a year we have a tough schedule. Looking foir Blythe in overtime is a little late.

Did anyone see a real all out bomb all night? Trying to make sure we did not hurt the qbs elbow.

IMO we played a good game, just had many mistakes due to inexperience. Our defensive secondary was the only weak spot. You guys look at the scoreboard and see they racked up 43 point, but remember, we contained them to 8 (should have been 6 due to an inexperienced mistake) at halftime, and 23 at the end of regulation.

One thing I have a question about is why the heck we didn't throw more longer passes to our receivers? Where was Todd Blythe before OT? We didn't have a single TD reception in regulation.

Overall, good game, (though tiring as a fan!) and great experience to our team which needs all that it can get right now. We just need to work with our secondary and make sure the whole team is ready for UNLV and we will be fine.
