It will be a guard…Who?… not sure. Based on zero information …I will go with Gilbert.

I think there are 5 or 6 guys who have the capability to lead any night. My out of the loop opinion thinks this team will be best if there are 4 guys averaging at or around 10 and feeding the hot hand on any given night.

It’s hard to say who will be our leading scorer this year. I went with Pav since he shot 39% from 3 and 84% from the line last year. Hopefully that will translate to good numbers here even though he will be facing much harder competition.

We have had some discussions on this topic in this thread: https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/th...ting-lineup-talk-for-the-23-24-season.278128/

I find it interesting we have so many possible top scorers this year. Lots of folks getting votes.

It is not that common to have a freshman lead a team in scoring, but it does happen at times. We have two highly rated freshmen this year, and of the two, I think Milan has the better chance at leading the team in scoring. I think his size and skill, especially his shooting from all over the floor, will end up being our best offensive option. If he can be effective enough on D to stay on the floor, I love his chances to compete for freshman of the year. The other players that could be top scorer in my eyes would be Keshon Gilbert - if he shoots the 3 effectively this year, he could be given a long leash to create his own shot and get to the hole or take a mid-range. Tre King is the other guy, as a senior, that could end up taking a Melvin Ejim-like leap. If that happens, I could see Milan being a 2nd or 3rd scorer.

Pav and C. Jones should both have nice roles. If either of them is good on defense, and can consistently create their own shot and make it at an efficient clip, they both have a shot. Getting enough minutes is the challenge.

Omaha would have to get points on offensive rebounds, 3's, lobs, and in transition. If he is better at getting to the hole with the ball in his hands than I am expecting, who knows. Tre and Milan are more likely to get post touches in my mind.

I hope it's very even scoring. My concern with a one and done like Biliew, he will want to prove he is NBA ready. Does that mean he takes 15 shots a game, robbing others of shots they would have made? I know nothing about him, and maybe that's not him at all. But it's just the way I think about these guys that know they are bound for the League.

TJ's quotes regarding Omaha have described him as pretty much the polar opposite of this. We have enough other options that I think that would negatively affect playing time if it were to occur as well.

Gut-feeling order for PPG, with scoring distribution quite tight:
1 Gilbert
2 Biliew
3 Lipsey
4 King
5 Paveletzke
6 C Jones
Agree with this except flip King and Lipsey, although it will be close. Lipsey will be invaluable with assists and steals. He will be good all round.
