Marched over it every home game for four years. I have a pair of band gloves that I smeared with endzone paint at the end of my last game as a bandmember (one cardinal, one gold).
i've marched over it every game day for the past 3 years, sadly this one will be my last. I'll never forget the first time i was on it though. Just a freshman, not really knowing what college was about let alone the passion the people in the stadium had for cyclone football. the crowd was so loud and i was so anxious that i almost blacked out about 4 times. but when we hit the first chord of fanfare, i knew that the jack was someplace magical and that moment will always mean a lot to me.

I've gone down to the field after the last game of the season a couple of times, including Mac's last game. That was cool, but I'll have to say being on the floor of Hilton is an even cooler experience. I've gone down and stood on the edge of the basketball floor during warmups a few times, and I've been down on the concrete floor during career fairs and of course graduation. That's a more interesting experience because of the unique perspective when Hilton is being used for something other than basketball.
Like most band members I was on the field 3 times a game for my 4 years in band.
Probably the more rare event is who has stood in the middle of the Basketball Floor at Hilton? I've only done that once.

I just finished up 3 years of being a manager for the team, so I spent quite a lot of time at Hilton. I still think my favorite times would be when we would get to play "managers games" and the players would be running the scoreboard and in the stands watching us play
In the late 90s I had the opportunity to attend a couple of football games with media credentials so I have been on the field, pressbox, and interview area.

Same here, and I used to have a relative who work at ISU so he could get sideline passes for lots of game. It was pretty easy to walk around on the field after the game with those.
Ditto to the color guard thing.
If anyone remembers the '80s when they had the cheerleader with the pigtails that were longer than she was tall? Well, part of the routine immediately before the game was for her to do backflips the length of the court, with her pigtails whipping around her body.
One game, we were standing at attention on the freethrow line, when she started her backflips, as usual, and she became disoriented, veering off her normal line, and knocked me out with her feet as as she collided with me at mid-flip. Of course, she struck the butt of my rifle with her head, and she went out as well, and we awoke in a tangle, with paramedics and security guys looking down at us on the court.
I'm guessing that's not happened more than once or twice.
Another band story. Nothing will ever top this for me.
It was an afternoon game and there was a flyover, I think it was actually a 9/11 anniversary. For once the flyover timing was almost precisely on with the final note of the national anthem and due to the time of day the shadows of the jets went right over where I was standing on the field. Which happened to be 2 steps from the 50 yard line. It was awesome!

I wasn't there that night... But I was there the game before when we beat UCLA??? I think. A group got in by pulling up the fence.. I remember later on carrying the goal post from the practice field (since hanging on the goal post at JTS seemed pointless)... A couch on fire.... Lake Laverne... And then things got fuzzy...
Other then that I've been on it several times storming the field.. Then one year during an Iowa/ISU game, I sat in the Endzone where the band currently is. During warmups we were standing right on the edge of the endzone. Neat experience being there on the field next to media and no one caring. We were on the top row of those bleachers and close enough to talk to the people sitting out of the Jacobson building that day.
I'm saying the number of people that have been on Clyde Williams field in their life and in JTS field isn't that high. I know it was only back in the 70's but we have some young people on this site.
