Who are we rooting for?

Kansas loses out they finish at 5-7 - not going to a bowl

K-State loses tonight, they finish at 6-6. But with 2 of this wins being against FCS opponents, and only able to count one of those for bowl eligibility, they also won't be going to a bowl.

Colorado's already ineligible, and after losing to aTm today Baylor will be as well.

That leaves 8 Big 12 bowl eligible teams with 8 Big 12 bowl slots. Methinks we're going bowling.

Nebraska & Texas Tonight

Mizzou & Ok State next week- I like OSU a lot better against OU right now, especially with Robinson back.

HEY FOLKS....all we need is for KSU to lose tonight and for KU to lose out (Tx & Mizzou).

That is all we need. Root against the state of Kansas and we are likely headed to the Independance Bowl again unless we get two BCS teams. IF that were to happen we could still pull the Insight.

If that happens you think Insight would pick us or Texas A&M? They did beat us head up but I think we would travel better. However I think A&M would have pretty good contingent in Phoenix as well. Hasn't it been awhile for them too since they went to a Bowl game?

Even if there are more than 8 Big 12 teams eligible for bowls, I would be shocked if a bowl with affiliation to a conference that did not have enough teams eligible, didn't pick us for their bowl game.

What worries me is everybody now is going to be picking OSU in that game due to OU's performance today. I'm not so sure on that. Stoops has lost what 2 home games in like 11 years or something?

50/50, but it would be us or them. I personally think they pick us, but who knows.

The way I see it:

There are 7 teams already ahead of us:

OU
TX
TT
T A&M (with win today)
OSU
Neb
Mizzou

There are two teams that are for sure behind us:

BU
CU

That leaves three teams:

KSU
ISU
KU

KSU loses tonight and they are out of the bowl picture
KU loses one of the last two than they are behind us...

So we take the 8th spot but still finish 9th in the Big 12 unless KSU beats NU or KU wins two.

Am I wrong?

Right now it is looking like this:
KSU has to beat NU today to be bowl elgible.
BU has to rally against A&M, and beat Tech to be elgible.
CU is already out.
KU will have to beat either Texas or Mizzou to get in.

Should be worried about the KU-Mizzou game.

Bowl order selections for the Big 12 is: (And the teams that will probably be picked if we only get 1 BCS team)
BCS: Texas
Cotton: OSU
Holiday: NU
Gator (when it selects a Big 12 team): Probably won't select a Big 12 team
Alamo: Tech
Sun (when the Gator does not take a Big 12 team): Mizzou
Insight: OU
Independence: A&M
Texas: ISU

That is what I am seeing as long as either KU or KSU doesn't become bowl eligible. We really need to avoid them making a bowl game cause I think we would get picked behind them after losing to both. If one of them becomes bowl eligible we would really need OSU to be in a BCS game.

Personally I'd be pretty happy with Texas against Navy.

If there's no Kansas teams I'd say it's something like this

Texas - Title Game
OSU - Fiesta (At large)
Nebby - Cotton
Tech - Holiday
Mizzou - Alamo
Oklahoma - Sun
Iowa State/aTm - Insight
Iowa State/aTm - Independence
Texas bowl unfilled

If OU beats OSU

OSU- Cotton
Nebby - Holiday
Tech - Alamo
Oklahoma - Sun
Mizzou - Insight
Iowa State/aTm - Independence

I'm sure Texas Bowl would love to do an "agreement" with Independence Bowl so that Indy takes us and leaves A&M for Texas so they get about 30-40,000 Aggie fans.

No way the Insight is between us and A&M. Mizzou will go.

If we don't get 2 to a BCS...

OSU to Cotton
NU to Holiday
OU/TT to Alamo/Sun
Mizzou ti Insight
ISU/A&M to Independence/Texas

The scenario he lays out Mizzou goes to the Alamo if we get two in which is above the Insight.

I think you missed the part where Mizzou was in the Alamo Bowl. Alamo Bowl >>> Insight Bowl.

If Mizzou beats KU and OU loses to OSU, the Sun will take an 8-4 Mizzou team before they take a 6-6 OU team. If the reverse happens and both teams are 7-5, then you might see OU over Mizzou in the Sun bowl. Either way it looks like we are going to Texas or the Independence bowl. The Insight/Texas/Independence will be between us/A&M/OU.

If OU loses to OSU, OSU is likely going to the Fiesta Bowl, which means everyone moves up one slot, which means Mizzou goes to the Alamo Bowl and ISU has a real shot at the Insight.

I would say that Mangino may be gone. If so, I doubt they will get picked for a bowl at 6-6 over us.

We are in and I am sure in Shreveport...If Okie State makes the BCS or if Nebraska somehow beats Texas, A & M will get the Insight leaving us still in the Indy...
