The reason I'd go to Council Bluffs was that it was starting point of a trip sampling BBQ (Hog Stop and others) across Iowa that would end up in Des Moines (then Ames for football and sometimes Basketball). Never been to Rocket Tavern but will definitely keep it in mind.

Haven't been there in a few years. It's your typical small town bar that looks like it could collapse on itself at any time
