When to cheer for the Hawkeyes?

So many trashy people out yesterday buying Iowa gear, immediately putting it on, and proclaiming their everlasting fandom (seriously, saw this in the mall bathroom).

I took so much pleasure in that Michigan State victory. All week long I had people saying things like, "Why don't you root for Iowa. They represent your state." That is the most BS statement ever. Would Duke fans root for North Carolina? Auburn fans root for Alabama? White Sox fans root for the Cubs? And I guarantee you that no Hok fan has ever cheered for ISU. ISU fans receive nothing but hatred and disrespect from Hok fans. I will never ever cheer for Iowa in any sport under any circumstance. **** Iowa

You are either a Cyclone or Qwak, Period.

Only bandwagon fans root for both teams, Oh for the sake of the state and stuff. HELL NO

Will always root for every team that plays against the Qwaks, CLONE TO THE BONE!!!!

Since I left Iowa its become easy to avoid all things hawkeye. I wouldn't know how their season went if it wasn't for CF.

Tried to watch yesterday and remembered Bee One Gee ball being as dull as ever.

**** Iowa and the horse the rode in on.

Same here. They're easy to avoid out here on the Left Coast. I thought I might be able to root for them since they were playing Sparty (still have bad Elite 8 Memories). But by Q2 I was looking for a green sweatshirt. Fist pumping on that last touchdown. All that said, props to their defense, especially the back end. Very impressive.

I grew up a Hawk fan and converted when I went to ISU. When I moved to eastern Iowa I thought it was possible to still hold onto the hoks for at least the non-ISU games. Little by little the random strangers who will walk up to you and talk smack at point blank just gets to you. I have never once walked up to a Hawk and rubbed one of our basketball or football victories down their throats or even give them the wrong shirt comment. My son almost giving up on wearing ISU gear at school because of the insults by both students and teachers. It just gets old. My son has learned to absolutely HATE the hoks and you know who is to blame for that? Hok fans. They can be real jerks. And you can't trust them either. They may say something nice in front of you and then run to Twitter or Facebook and let it rip when you aren't there.

Couldn't of said it any better, exact same situation here.

Iowa fans don't deserve this season. Not after having a lower attendance @ Kinnick than Trice on opening weekend. Not after begging to fire Ferentz for the last decade. Not after having never attended said beloved university. Not after ignoring their team until midseason. Not after putting a ******** sticker on your helmet claiming to care about farmers. **** them representing our state. **** the stupid love fest. Can't wait for it to be over.

Yesterday I wanted either:

A) embarrassing blow out

B) heartbreaking last second loss

C) Cyclone-esque ref screw job

Here's to option B.

I've watched my Packers win the Super Bowl, I've watched Kansas win the National Championship in San Antonio and I've watch my Redbirds win game 6 and 7 to win the world series. All in person. Last night was the best atmosphere for a football game I've ever been a part of. We had an absolute blast.

Lol. So had we gone 12-1 this season we wouldn't have deserved it because we've begged to have that POS HC Rhoads fired for the last 3 years?

Believe it or not, I know some Iowa fans who claim the MSU touchdown at the end was a conspiracy and that his "forward progress was stopped plenty before he scored". Typical Iowa fans.
