When to cheer for the Hawkeyes?

Most of my good friends are Iowa fans and quality human beings, but even half of them are obnoxious in their hate for ISU. Sorry, but I can't stomach their constant arrogance. My favorite Hawk myth is that Iowa City is this hidden gem of progressive culture, when it's really just a typical Eastern Iowa dump, but instead of toothless river rats, it's overrun with spoiled Chicago kids.

If the hoks lose to Nebby, I will root for them all day long in the championship game. That would screw the Big10 out of a lot of money...

Only if by them winning it directly benefits Iowa State 100%. Otherwise, never.

Actually if Iowa makes it to the playoffs, Paul can say that was one more tough game he was saddled with and woe is us.

Actually I don't, I just hate the UofI. Growing up in eastern Iowa in a town of 90% tavern hawks who act like Iowa should be on the Mt. Rushmore of college football will make you hate them.

Its the same way on the western side of the state but with the Corn holers! Growing up in CB, Iowa when all you can get on TV are Nebraska stations then all you hear 24/7 is Nebraska football.

This is my thinking as well.
Of course I'm sure the playoff committee would come up with some sort of skewed logic to vote one of them in regardless.

**** the University of Iowa. **** every single bit of it other than the Carver School of Medicine. **** their team, **** their ***-holes fans and **** the media in Iowa. And if I have to: **** "good for the state" since I live in Minnesota. You think those ****in' hawks will be cheering for us to go to the Final Four?????????

Oh, and last but not least, **** the Gophers for not beating them.

Go Huskers!

I wouldn't cheer for them directly but I can give them credit when it's due. I don't live in a place where I'm going to be surrounded by/see comments from belligerent hawkeye fans so that helps.

When I was younger, I spent way too much time and energy arguing about/hating Iowa, and I realized that's a really stupid approach, and when I see ISU fans going out of their way to make it happen, it only fuels their fans and the 'super bowl/only care about one game' narrative.

Only because Iowa fans believe we think beating Iowa is an amazing achievement athletically when in fact it's because we just want to shut them the hell up.

Told my husband straight out to have me committed if I ever do that. Sure sign of insanity.

Just when you think they can't get any more insufferable, they prove you wrong.

First post back from my first ban. Feels good that is one about how much ******* hate those a holes...
