When do you start to dislike someone

Can this thread just be about hating ppl in general?

Because there's alotta ppl i hate

Some recruits want to play for the school and/or head coach. Some recruits just have a close relationship with their recruiter, and nobody else. If Matt was the only thing keeping him at ISU, then there was no reason for him to stay without Matt. Since he wasn't being actively recruited for the past 6+ months, he probably didn't have any close relationships with any other schools/recruiters. Following Matt wherever he went just made sense. Everyone makes decisions differently, and DW clearly values relationships. He wouldn't have been happy at ISU without Matt, which could have caused more problems than his talents are worth.

The Diallo situation is part of the game, but the Darien Williams situation annoys me, a lot. Dude had already committed to Iowa State and decommitted and followed MA to SJU.

I find it hard to believe that he willingly followed MA to SJU without MA saying a word to him about leaving. Cheick hasn't committed to anyone yet, so who cares. I'm dissappointed that we most likely won't get him, but he is 100% uncommitted.

If MA actually told him to follow him, then that's a really sleazy thing to do.

Would like to say I appreciate his previous contributions. Was a huge part of the rebuild.

I understand what Chris said about having Fred's blessing to take Williams, but that isn't the same as Otz/Williams-Goss/Washington.

Williams was signed with ISU and was going to be a cyclone. Then Matt A takes (with the okay from Fred). This might sound a bit hypocritical since we're going after Nick Noskowiak, and he was signed with Marquette, but he got out of that months ago, not 5 days ago.

Williams-Goss is leaving Washington regardless, so why not go after him? (My point isn't to go after NGW, rather to point out the difference in the situations and why they're irratating).

There is no reason for Williams-Goss to have any love for TJ. TJ wasn't there for his recruitment. He was only there for a couple of terrible seasons.

Just curious. Matt Abdelmassih is starting to annoy me by recruiting our players that are commited i.e Darian Williams. Recruited our big fish that we were trying to get(Diallo) Almost sending him directly to our rivals. I understand the game. Dont get me wrong. He has every right to do it. Other coaches have always done it. However this little dude is starting to annoy me since he is directly going after guys we spent a lot of money recruiting. At what point can i start disliki g this guy. And yes im bitter.

The moment a coach leaves ISU they are my enemy forever. Any gold coins I own with their image - are IMMEDIATELY dumped in the garbage. Any books they write about winning national championships - are purchased for bonfire use only.

You really realize Iowa State is a Science and Technology School any time our fan base has tocollectively comprehend nuance, pyschology or group dynamics. Trying to explain the value of a recruiters relationship to a recruit, nuanced shift in recruitment strategy or the dynamic of the weight of expectations sometimes feels like being a "soft" salesman at an aspergers convention.

But for exactly those reasons 50% won't get this because you won't be able to comprehend someone buying a product because they relate to the seller (i get it, it is illogical, but very much a common human condition ;). Having said that Matt A. is the classic soft salesman and many of us took everything he said literally (and are ****** now) and the other half never understood him anyway :jimlad:

I dislike someone when they measure my loyalty by the size of my monetary contribution. So basically preachers, politicians, and Stormin.

This is where I am at. To pull an already signed player is a stab in the back on the way out the door.

Recruiting is like sales. When you hire a new salesman you generally plan on him bringing some of his customers with him. Happens ALL the time.

I know I've grown to dislike numerous posters on this board. Each one took different amounts of time.

Its not that we dont get it. It just that he is no longer with us and going after the same guys we are after. I develope dislike for that.
