whatever happened with scott haughton?

scott is back home regrouping himself.he was dismissed from the team for poor grades i guess he thought if he was just good on field the rest would be overlooked.NOT. so what do you think, he's gonna quit? NEVER i know him personally and this is just a stumbling stone for him and he will return stronger, faster and better than before.when he successfully completes summer school he will have a 2.0 gpa. then he can remain in a d1 college (plenty have offered him a scholarship even though he will have to sit on the bench next year) or he can drop down to a lower division (naia) be reinstated and dominate that division then transfer back to the big boys, who knows if he does it that way the guy would have three years of playing under his belt and may have a chance to be drafted. I heard that coach rhoads would reinstate him if complies and wants to return..................

Good for him. Remind him that his education is more important than the game.

And I totally agree with a couple things posted earlier:

If you get a 0.67, you don't deserve a scholarship.

If you get a 0.67, you're not stupid, you're lazy (which is stupid in its own right).

Or, none of these things happen, he throws away a golden opportunity at a free education and ends up flipping burgers in Ottumwa.

What I don't get is that he was close to getting kicked out last year. If I remember correctly, he didn't get to practice in the spring because he had to work on his grades. Then he shows up in August ready to go and saying how CPR helped him grow up and realize that he needed to work harder at academics. That lasted all of a semester it seems. I guess if he can pull it all together and get the GPA back up, then he should be able to come back, but I don't see how things will change. IMO he may be better off just going 1AA for a year and then declaring. That being said, I hope that he can put himself in position to get back with his current teamates, because they could use him.

one man don't make a team but you can still feel the impact when they are such a good player as scott. he wont be flipping burgers and yes he has had a second chance and blew that one to but its hard to break the big guys determination.keep the negative blogs coming,it encourages him more...............go cyclones

But the question is, does Scott want to return. Or is he ****** at the ISU coaches and will look elsewhere.

He would be rather stupid to be ****** at the coaching staff. He's the idiot that didn't put any effort into the student part of being a student athlete. Its HIS fault.

i think he would return if he does what he needs to and the offer still stands with CPR. he's not ****** with the ISU coaches they did a wonderful job of helping him become the player that he is . he takes full responsibility for his dismissal and maybe one day he'll be a cyclone again.....

It couldn't have come as a big surprise did it? I wasn't the worlds best student, but hell I always new about what my grades were.

Thanks for the info. Good luck Scott, we'd love to have you back - hell of a player!

Sorry but this just pisses me off. I hope the kid is successful but to **** away an opportunity is ridiculous. He not only screwed himself but he screwed his teammates. That is what angers me the most. Scott is tallented enough to have opportunities but he screwed his teammates because he was lazy.
And your attitude is worse. It is...Scott will be fine so screw your negative comments. Sorry but when you are a team member it isn't only about the individual. It is also about the team and the school you represent. I hope Scott realizes what he did to the people around him as well as how he screwed himself.
Don't get me wrong, I hope the kid straightens up and is successful in life but this isn't all about him and he needs to realize that as well.
