I 100 percent understand superstitions I just have to laugh at it a bit!

I’ll never forget that UAB game, that ISU team came back from double digits their last eight games of the season if I recall. They had a terrible habit of starting slow getting behind and coming back. Then when they showed up as a three seed with frosted tips and cockiness to the tournament…..I knew we were in for a long night. Offensively gifted but a very undisciplined team.

Yeah, but they actually started that game up 12-2. They led 55-51 with 1:40 to go.

Anyways, I don't buy the high ranking curse at all. It's tough to win conference basketball games regardless of your ranking. If we have a bad record with a high ranking, I don't think it has much to do with players getting big headed and more to do with strong competition.

I respectfully disagree, I think a game on New Year's Day between two undefeated top 10 teams is fantastic timing. The number 1 team in the country vs. the might of Hilton Magic. To quote Apollo Creed:

Don't worry about the #9 ranking jinx. I think there's a good chance our ranking could could move up or down a spot before the Baylor game, depending on how other ranked teams do this week.

They could have tried to keep him, but reports were they didn't seriously attempt to. They thought they were getting Lon Kruger back in the building.

I absolutely think we have a chance against Baylor. I'm hoping that our crowd is a normal Hilton Magic advantage, despite it being on New Year's Day vs a whole bunch of bowl games, and being during break with the absence of the noise from Cyclone Alley.

If this wasn't during break, I absolutely think we'd have a shot. But between the lack of students and the way Baylor manhandled Nova, I'm not too hopeful. Going to love seeing the press before a top ten matchup at Hilton though!!!

My biggest fear with the Baylor game is we have 11 days off prior to that. That's a long time off. Baylor plays like 3-4 days before.

Creighton also manhandled Villanova. Baylor actually trailed at Oregon. I like our chances.

Remember when Baylor had never won at Hilton? I don't remember when that ended, but it wasn't that long ago... We went to one of the games over break a few years back against BU, it was not as much fun as I'd hoped (b/c we lost...)
