I'm a recent ISU grad who lives in the Twin Cities. For the past few years, I always thought the Cyclones and Gophers were in very similar situations...unable to win close games, can't compete with the big boys, go to mediocre bowls, everyone upset at head coach who just got another extension, problems with in-state recruiting, choke choke choke, etc.
This year I see no difference between the two programs. Both have been extremely disappointing. I've been listing to KFAN talk radio, and I'm hearing everything that I read on this board, word for word. People on KFAN are blaming Coach Mason for the Gopher's problems, because he's been the one constant for the past several years. They want a new coach for the same reasons we want a new coach. But other people are saying this is the best the Gopher's will get because of money, tradition, facilities, and they should be happy with mediocre seasons.
So what do you think the Gophers should do? Stick with the coach who has semi-consistently brought them to lower tier bowl games? Or take a chance on a new and possibly unproven coach?
Does your answer line up with what you think the Cyclones should do?
(Or do you not care because they're in the Big10? :wink0st: )
