What Q/B controversy

Rob Bolden has the stereotypical "involved" helicopter dad who announced to the media (and anyone else who would listen) right after the bowl game that his son was fed up and looking to transfer. What kind of father does that?
FYI, Bolden's mom has criticized her son's father and thinks her son should stay at PSU and toughen up.
Keep in mind this player started as QB in his true freshman year, and could start for three more.
Dad, get a hobby and stay out of your son's life.

He also got beat out and benched towards the end of the season, for a sophomore. While it is an "open competition" it doesn't look like he'd be starting for a few years again.

That's just turble turble advice. Don't make decisions for your children, but every parent should learn to stay involved with their children and teach them make their own decisions.

I think the point was that the father shouldn't be going all Scott Boras in the media. He faces a little bit of adversity and wants to leave and Daddy is on board with it? Good luck going through life like that.
Also, I am pretty sure Big 10 + 2 rules would prohibit transferring to a school within the conference and receiving a scholarship, regardless of being released or not.
