What is your Excitement Level?

I was more excited earlier and thought we might have a shot at 6 wins, but have tempered a little with some of the departures off the team. Hopefully will get competent, competitive football but not thinking bowl game now.

I prefer to be an optimistic person. Sadly football coincides with school and madness starting again.

I have never understood why fans always base the season on going to a bowl game. I'd take watching ISU play ANY Big XII game home or away, compared to ISU playing a MAC team in Shreveport, in the rain, in late December.
How many bowl games was Iowa state been to and won? If you don't want to see Iowa state in a bowl game you're crazy

Does a hope for five or six wins this year make me optimistic? Sure.

Football game days are an EVENT! That is what we all are counting down the days for, right?

I agree that watching the actual bowl game doesnt compare with a Big 12 game (assuming its a boring bowl game). But of course you want to make a bowl game. Its been far too long without going to a game. you cant get to a BCS bowl game goal without working your way up.

Ummmmm...I renewed my MBB basketball tickets today. :D

As for football - I'm looking forward to it, but I don't have quite the preseason excitement level I used to have when we had season tickets. I loved the game atmosphere and we were always excited for the season to start even when the results weren't grand. Watching on TV is less...fulfilling...

Man I wish I knew you were dropping this year. I would have picked those up.

We dropped them last year. I just couldn't handle the long sit on the bleachers, even with the chair back...the arthritis in my back got too bad. And we're not independently wealthy enough to get the club seats. At least Hilton has better seats. :)

My son was a freshman at Iowa State last year. This meant that I could attend my first home game in several years, because he was no longer playing HS football. All I can say is appreciate what you have. Iowa State Football and Jack Trice are truly special. What an amazing atmosphere. I believe it is only going to get better under CMC. We have all witnessed the power of Hilton Magic and there is no reason to think that something similar can't happen at Jack Trice. I plan to be back this year for a game or two. I can't wait.
