Here's my summary:
-last 4 years we weren't good at MBB.
-Mac was the coach those 4 years.
-Should have had a good year last year, but didn't.
-Mac has had trouble keeping players and coaches around.
-Killed Hilton Magic.
-After people wanted to fire Mac, Creighton has now expressed interest in him.
-If Mac leaves for CU, we don't have to buyout his contract out and can hire a new coach without paying for 2 coaches salaries.

That's as much as I know so far... Will know more in the next day or so, probably.

McDermott Contacted for Creighton Job

McDermott Contacted for Creighton Job

ABC5 Sports has learned that Creighton University has contacted ISU head men's basketball coach Greg McDermott to take over their men's basketball team.

The position opened up on Saturday when Dana Altman took a similar position at the University of Oregon.

The Omaha World Herald was the first to report that McDermott was one of six coaches that had expressed interest in the job. ABC5 also confirmed through a source close to the situation that when Altman left briefly for Arkansas two years ago, McDermott was high on the wish list of Creighton athletic director Bruce Rasmusson. Rasmussen was spotted checking into a West Des Moines hotel on Sunday morning.

McDermott has success in the Missouri Valley Conference. He spent five years at his alma mater UNI, leading the Panthers to three NCAA Tournament appearances before moving to Iowa State.

There he has struggled to gain traction in the Big 12. He is nine games below .500 in his four years in Ames.
