no, the game has referencing was Johnny’s 4th team. Barry Stevens fouled, and got a technical, at the same time. Johnny literally threw him on the bench. It was George Raveling’s first year at Iowa.
what was truly memorable was Jeff hornacek throwing alley oops to 5’11 Terrance Allen as the game wound down.
I was at that game 3 or 4 rows behind the basket on visitors side. came away from that game with my ears ringing. was a great time
The turnaround won’t be slow. With a staff that actually knows how to coach a basketball team we’ll be competitive quickly. Steve Prohm is incompetent. The coaching staff is a joke.
Thanks ...Nococy, thats the way I remember it in 1983 and after that game there was no more, "walking up to the ticket window on game day or night and buying tickets"....I remember going to a saturday afternoon game later in the season vs Okie State and Bill Self played one of the guard positions.
A friend of my had season tickets to Drake Basketball and wanted me to go that very night and so I did, and boy were Choke Eye fans pissed off Mega Big Time with losing to Lowly Iowa State!

He’s made to be an assistant. Good recruiter subpar X’s and O’s. He’d be a great assistant hire for a blue blood program
The good thing is basketball can have quick turn arounds with new coaches. IT's not like football where you have to recruit a whole team if the talent is not there. If the Core of the team stays in place or even we keep some of our players, The turn around could be quick with a good coach who knows how to coach.
