What do we do with an open scholly?

Why would the staff need your trust to begin with? And don't you think they know more about this sort of thing than you? I find it funny when people keep questioning coaches and the players, when they have NO IDEA as to what is really going on.

You're right, they obviously know a crapload more than I do and I don't have any idea what is going on. What I do know is that our team is one of the worst in the league and we can't recruit players that are good enough to stay or that want to stay.

Am I the only one that think Marcus Jordan could be beneficial in ways not directly related to his production on the floor. Maybe I'm naive, but I would think that being the son of the best basketball player ever to play the game and still one of the most recognized figures on the entire planet might be helpful in some aspects (exposure, donations, recruiting, etc).

And let's be honest, it's not like he's a huge step down from either of the guys that just left. He'd be here for 4 years and has already been playing with a kid who I expect to be our starting PG the year after next. Also, wasn't his father a late bloomer?

According to Cyclone Sports Report free forum, post by Greg Ohlson writer for CSR, we have no chance at either Jordan or Smith.

He also is reporting that Brakins will declear for the NBA draft, without an agent. He will make his decision to hire an agent or stay, after talking to NBA scouts.

I would really rather go after a four year guy as opposed to another JUCO, but it is what it is. I wish the staff would give me a reason to trust them in their selection and retension of players.

They need his trust because he is an ISU fan and McD is really starting to lose the faith of the average fan. Case in point: what do you think the odds of one of Mcd's recruits actually GRADUATING from ISU? I would put it at about 10% which is pathetic.

The retention isn't good no matter how you spin it. Are we upgrading talent? Yes, but why did we sign that kid in the first place? I for one am sick of going through off seasons were half our team wants to quit and/or transfer.

All these people have rumors about not being here next year: Mann, Eik, Ham, Boozer, Brackins, & Lee

The question to ask is this: What is so wrong with ISU Men's BB that NO ONE wants to stick around longer than 2 years?:wideeyed:

I don't know how you can blindly have faith in a Coach and his staff either. Mac is beginning year 4 of his tenure, yet it appears he still has not established any stability. Two more transfers, at least two guys considering. He's missing on way too many guys, either from a talent or a toughness standpoint. I totally understood the first few, but the guys now transferring are Mac recruits that he should have had adequate time to evaluate before offering.

I think I alluded to that either earlier in this thread or another and got completely ignored

I think if the coaching staff was smart they would try to sign Ejim now as we no longer need to hold a scholly as a back up plan for Barnes so we can sign both of them.

It is just hard to believe that we cannot hold onto anyone, grant it i think Eik shoud have redshirted this year anyways.......My 16 year old cousin weighed more than he did. I think one of the main problems is that when McD got here he had to fill an entire team. I am sure he told them they will get playing time. this team won't be successful until they have a steady class coming in. good programs bring in 3 - 4 recruits a year and either graduate or have 3- 4 turn pro! Some of the kids need to understand that they are not going to play right away!

it is not an issue in football, majority of the freshman red shirt!

Staff should get on the phone with Seth Curry....

How are us fans sure he's not another Mann or Eik in the making? Just because his brother tears it up at Davidson? Did we expect Booze to tear it up just because his brother plays for the Jazz (not disrespecting Booze, just saying he's not the player his brother is)?

Because he was the leading freshmen scorer in the country

I wonder if Clones85' is still worried about the scholarship situation.:wideeyed:

Isn't it nap time for you?

What I said was true and still is. I have only looked more correct lately. The coaches didn't bring Dendy in until after Mann had announced that he would transfer.

It would have looked bad if they would have given a scholly that wasn't there to give.

Same goes for Kelm. Why hasn't he committed cyismydog?!?!? Huh? Is it b/c Kansas is in on him?:biglaugh:

Didn't Seth lead the nation in Freshman scoring?

Does that make him "Big XII talent"? Last time I checked Liberty isn't exactly a "Big XII caliber" conference. Isn't that the whole debate? If he is all that, great, bring him in. If he isn't and he gets brought in, look who gets blamed for that decision...

Well, if he's not complaining about one thing...

What have I complained about today? I said IF Hamilton and Boozer also leaves that would be horrible. Is that not true?

Some of you are like little girls. If somebody says something that isn't 100% positive, you call your moms and have them take you to the mall and out for ice cream! :jimlad:
