What are you drinking tonight?

Confluence South Side citrus blonde. Took a flyer on it at Hy-vee. Too bitter; don't think I'd buy it again.

I spent last night downing Redd's mixed with (a lot of) Fireball. It didn't end well.

Been trying some Summit beers since they're the official beer of the Minnesota Twins. Had Maibock tonight. The first one went down a bit rough, but halfway through the second I was pouring them back like water

Their original, Extra Pale Ale, is still their best beer. Their Pilsner and Summer Ale are good summer options.

No idea why they thought the Great Northern Porter was something to put in their Summer Sampler 12-packs. A dark beer to be served at 50 something degrees is not a traditional summer beer. At least they did not put some phony crap shandy brew in the sampler.

Seems kind of weird to be drinking at a "bar" inside of hyvee at 3pm on a Thursday but happy to do it when you can get some King Sue. Excellent beer.

I bought the curious traveler lemon shandy this week. Wasn't bad, but I think I prefer Leinenkugels summer shandy

When I come in from work, and am HOT and sweaty, this is what I sometimes like to make. I take my Iowa State tumbler and fill it with ice. Then I pour in a Lime-a-rita. Top it off with 2-3 shots worth of Yukon Jack. In a minute or two, I am good with the world......

No, both Hy-vee's ran through kegs within 3 hours.

I was afraid that would happen. King Sue is at the top of my must-have list. Seems like I am never back in Iowa when they release it though. One day I will have it, and I will love every minute of it.
