What’s the deal with this story? (Missing UI student Mollie Tibbetts)

I’ve been following this story from out of state and it’s just been really vague. This is the most info I’ve seen yet put out by law enforcement and it’s not much. What’s the word locally?

Iowa DCI took over the investigation yesterday. It has gotten extremely quiet from officials since then. No more public searches and investigators are “following leads”.

It almost has to be a abduction of some sort. Horrible to think that it could happen to a 20 yr old in small town Iowa. I thought maybe she was hit by a car while jogging at first, but at this point it’s hard to see a good ending.

Seems to be where this is headed, unfortunately. Reading some stats on trafficking, I cant believe how pervasive it is. So sad.

That's the crazy part. It's probably easier in smaller towns. I certainly hope this isn't the case, but after 4 days, with no sign of her, what else could it be?

Brooklyn is right off of 80 which is probably a big trafficking corridor.

That’s why I posted what I did at the start of the thread. If it were an accident, suicide, etc. she would have turned up by now.

Gunner mentioned being close to I-80, which makes this worse; if it is trafficking, they could be anywhere by now.

Article I read sounded like she was in jogging clothes, not work clothes. Unless there's a gym in Brooklyn..... I don't think it's typical just to go to work in a sports bra and shorts.
