We're #1! (at shot quality defense)

I’m not sure the talent on our roster can take us to a final four but this is intriguing.
Agree. I don't believe we have the consistent offense or alpha to take things over when needed or overcome the droughts this team has faced many 2nd halves.

But hopefully they come out guns a blazing to make a run!

Our free throw percentage is probably too low as well.
Hard to figure this out. Big Rob, well he just sucks at shooting, so you just have to live with that, but Grill was our best shooter, and his FT percentage wasn't great. Shoon started the season as an 80+% FT shooter and now he is in the 60s. Seems like Jaz has had more struggles at the line this year. Lipsey, who can't make a 3 to save his life is actually a pretty good FT shooter. Ward comes in at 28%,yikes. Watson is 42%. Fortunately those last 2 don't play a lot. As a side note, Eli King, who were where hoping would help the 3 point shooting is 1 for 5 so far this year, and that is playing against other teams scrubs.

I daresay you haven't had much practice,' said the Queen. 'When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

What exactly is Shot Quality Defense and how is it measured?

Damn I didn't see this exchange going down the morning of a basketball tournament

Their site

Basically, it's about not letting the opposing team's good scorers get their most efficient looks.
It does this by measuring each player's shots and projecting points per possession and rim & 3 rate to get an overall score for each player. Then I'm guessing the software looks at a game to give an expected scoring result per possession. This gets aggregated across the season, and an adjusted rating of 85.2 points allowed per 100 possessions is what they gave Iowa State.

Lipsey and Holmes are about the only ones I can breathe easy when they go to the line.

I didn't realize Ward and Watson were that low so I guess it's just kind of a crap shoot for whoever's out there late.
