They were a cupcake the first quarter when they were clueless about what our offense would look like, but once they had a chance to digest it they made great adjustments like a top 40 team/coaching staff would be expected to do.

It looked like they realized after the first quarter that we would not throw it deep so they stuffed the over the middle pass routes. Looked like last year defenses against us.

It's a zero-sum game in the respects of the OP. Somebody has to lose so somebody might win. We just happen to normally be the former and not the latter. It's not impossible that it might change--Kansas won an Orange Bowl, and Baylor and OSU have permanently altered their fates as programs lately with good hires and similar resources as ours--but it's our current situation.

I just hope Fred can set the basketball team up as a permanent foil to Kansas for the conference championship. That would help on the recognition train as at least a "basketball school."
