Teams in green better prepare to get hosed. Teams in red better prepare to get a hand job from the CFP committee.
That said, once TCU and Baylor get to the meat of their schedule and one of them wins out, they'll climb. Challenge is, will the CFP committee keep on screwing them over.
Don't have a problem with this. The Big12 backloaded the schedule so those big games haven't happened yet. If Baylor or TCU can wins those games they'll be in the top 4 easily.
As long as the Big 12 doesn't beat up on itself, it will get a team in. If any of BU, OU, OSU, or TCU wins out, that team will be in the playoff. The problem for the Big 12 will be if those teams spread out the wins.
If Clemson loses, the ACC is out. I think Notre Dame is very overrated right now and even if they win out I think they could be left out. If you replace the names on the jersey for both Alabama and Notre Dame with Vanderbilt and BYU, they wouldn't even be in the top 10.
Notre Dame @ Stanford might end up being a play-in for the playoff (although Stanford would have another game to play after that still).

Bama or LSU will drop next week. Plus, if Miss keeps winning, they'll represent the SEC West so that'll put the Big12 at an advantage if they pick a champion.

Last year, the teams ranked 6, 5, 2, and 16 in this initial ranking ended up 1-4 to make the playoff. If that happened again, this year's playoff would be:
1) Baylor
2) Notre Dame
3) Ohio State
4) Florida State

Can someone explain to me why Clemson get's a pass on a weak non-con? How were they able to play 2 D1-AA teams?

Clemson has the #1 strength of record and 18th strength of schedule....Baylor has the 109th SOS.

well, other than play a team that will be in the playoff top four (whether it's OSU or MSU).
If Iowa loses, they'll tumble down the rankings for sure but probably not quite that far, depending on how bad the loss is. For instance, I doubt they'll drop past Northwestern who they destroyed on their home field and has fewer losses than.
As to the rankings, I'm not sure what criteria they could have used for these rankings. They obviously didn't go by the results on the field, otherwise MSU is in the top 4 with one of the best wins of anyone in the discussion and OSU and Bama aren't. They couldn't have went just by the eye test, otherwise why wouldn't TCU and Baylor be ranked higher?
So they must have used the ole put in as many big brand teams as we can method. At least there weren't three SEC teams listed like there was last year.
