There are always game one suspensions for team rules violations. Nealy, Montgomery, Watson, etc.

This. It's starting to feel like an annual tradition the week before the first game - word starts trickling out about first game suspensions due to one transgression or another that occurred in the offseason. Chances are we'll hear about another right before kickoff. It is what it is. Can't run a loose ship.

Makes me wonder just how many of those freshmen 2 deep players the last 2 years are still with the program, and poised to make an impact this year if they haven't already?

Well they were battling for starting guard and center spots in the spring as freshman... Hard to say how much if any drop off between the two.

I'm assuming that some of these guys who have vanished from the two deep (Garcia and Fernandez, among others) are dinged up, rather than overrecruited by true freshmen.

I wonder if that's why JaQuan Bailey and Mike Johnson are higher than anticipated too.

I don't know if punter usually lists a two deep or not, but do we have a backup punter? Is Holden Kramer off the team?

He was kind of vital in the Texas game last year, I think he pinned 4 punts inside the 15.
