Week 1 Depth Chart

Seeley will need a Jevohn Miller type improvement for this defense to stop anyone.

Seeley doesn't have the potential that Miller did, we just need Seeley to be fundamentally sound and not make mistakes. I think we have a few other guys on the roster with more talent, but sometimes just doing everything right can be better.. Be in the right place and make the tackle and he won't be a weakness.

Interesting that Azunna is 2nd string as CB as a true freshman. I haven't heard much about him, he must be looking good. Is he replaced by Tribune after he sits out a game?

Is Cliff Fernandez hurt? Also, Odeagu, Green, and Alexander couldn't even crack the 2-deep. Disappointing.
Azunna is a very good cover guy. I thought he would redshirt but I was excited about him for the future. I think he will provide good reps this year.

Jamahl Johnson is a guy I have praised the most from this recruiting class. He is gonna end up starting next year and will be better than Tucker by the time he is done.

Cool to see Allen, Jones and Foster will play but I think that was expected. Same with the two RBs and Bailey.

I'm so excited to watch this team grow. Might not have many wins, but should be more enjoyable to watch this year.

We already have a great running attack between Warren and Lanning... if Kene is actually the fastest guy on the team... Look out. I think we've also upgraded our short yardage back on top of that.

Not going to mention how our HC and OC both excel in blocking either.

After watching David Montgomery's HS vid and some fall practice vid....I would say that he is going to push Warren more than I ever expected. I truly believe that he will be a HUGE factor as he will be the best all around back we have (running, blocking, and catching).

Just MO.

Interesting to see two guys originally committed to Rhoads potentially contributing right away.

I noticed that many of the players that could play there freshmen year are some of the lowest ranking players on the 2016. I wonder if that is evidence that rankings don't matter much or if the whole class has widespread talent. Hopefully it is the second one. I have idea how Montgomery wasn't higher ranked especially.

No Robby Garcia on the defensive line. Not a big deal, but he and a couple other guys, like Northrup and Jay Jones, who have playing experience or starting experience have been recruited over. With that said Northrup has a ton of potential if he's used right, IMO.

Rankings to some degree are a crapshoot for fun. There aren't two schools who have the same rankings top to bottom on recruits.

I think our running backs are going to be something special for the next few years. And IF that line begins to make progress and stay healthy this team could be a nightmare to pass heavy Big12 defenses.

Congrats to all the players listed in the two deeps. You have worked your butt off and been rewarded for doing so by your Coaching Staff. For the players not listed, keep working and earn your opportunity. Go Cyclones!

Sure, but what I've seen of Seeley looked a lot like Miller as a Soph and JR. Gets to the right spot and misses the tackle. The improvement of Miller from JR to SR year was very impressive. Maybe some of that was moving to MIKE, but he went from a weakness to a strength. You're right, Seeley just needs to be solid, but that is a huge improvement from where he was last year. With only two LBs, we can't afford for him to be whiffing on guys. If that starts, we're going to see Mills and Sutton sooner than later.

Earlier the coaches said LB Tymar Sutton will play. (Despite not being listed on this depth chart)
