Week 1 Depth Chart

Our center and left guard are small (height wise). This concerns me.

People will find anything to be concerned about. Must be the ISU football fan in us all.

The most concerning things about this depth chart to me are:

1. Inexperience on the offensive line.
2. Seeley getting the start at MLB. Look, I hope the guy has improved and maybe he has turned the corner, but he has been awful in prior years playing time. Really hoping to see the Harvey/Northrup combo on the field a lot together.

The main one that worries me is Jamahl Johnson and Sean Foster. Nose guard is a hard one to start as a freshmen, Welcome to the big 12 son! Sean Foster is thrown in there mainly, because he has to be unfortunately. I guess we will see what those freshmen are capable of pretty soon. Will Windham is a name I haven't heard much about, but he was highly recruited in HS and red-shirted last year. Not many returning starters on the depth chart.

Windham is actually a sophomore, and ISU was his only reported P5 offer.

I see a lot of this in the 2 deep, rotation within the 2-deep.... My disappointments JUCO Oline(Green and Udogue), Crownley, m. Murdock, Stewart, and Nerness....

There is a definite theme to this depth chart - freshman beating out JC and transfer players. Hopefully that is great news for the long term future.

Seeley scares me too. He's never looked like a Big 12 athlete, and I've seen nothing in the limited clips (which I admit mean very little) from camp to suggest he's taken the next step. TIf he's going to succeed this season, he will have to adjust his go-to strategy of trying to run around blockers and not through them.

What we are seeing here is a coaching staff who doesn't care about starting kids or putting kids in the 2 deep just because they are upper classmen...The best players will play no matter who they are. Sometimes it takes an all new staff to completely change a players attitude and how they play...Creer is a perfect example. I remember looking at the roster last year with all the Oline injuries and worries and I was thinking how come this guy we've never even heard of. I trust this staff far more with Oline decisions than the previous staff by far.

It is disappointing on the Juco Oline but remember Ogu got here in August and it takes a while to get adjusted..Could see them moving into depth chart mid year..

You have not gleaned a single damn thing from a couple minute long highlight tapes that encompassed the entire team, you are just projecting what you want to see.

Mostly commenting on his size. He doesn't look like a Big 12 middle linebacker.
