From the press conference today, Paul said about the TCU game "in hindsight we should have ran it more."

Ok, you SHOULD have ran it more against Tech, but, didn't. No biggie, just do it next week.

Now again, Rhoads just figured out he SHOULD have run it more against TCU.

Just maybe, can we run it more against Baylor this week???

Don't hold your breath folks.

This is a more accepting way of saying "we have no idea how to make in game adjustments".

Rhoads is the master of fixing things that aren't broken. He loves to go away from what works.

I can't remember the last time Rhoads clearly showed us that he is capable of making in game adjustments.

Prime example: Lanning throws 70+ yard TD pass on first and only pass, and then never goes back in the game. Im not saying he should have played every snap from there on out, but give the kid more reps.

These quotes from the press conference reinforce my belief that Rhoads himself has lost whatever confidence he had. I can't see a situation where this turns around with him as coach any longer. REALLY hope Pollard makes a change, no later than the end of the season.

Immediately would be preferable.

Completely agree, I am sure I surprised you....
Go to Lanning formation, stick with the zone read, kill the clock....
We can't stick with TCU in shot out....

As I see the box score, ISU had 38 run plays which averaged 3 yds/play, and 38 pass plays which averaged 9.1 yds per play. So why would you run more? More 4th-and-shorts so the punter can practice his fakes and pooch kicks?

Warren looks like a nice back, but he's racked up his yards against a non-P5 team and two P5 teams with rushing defenses ranked in the triple digits. TCU neutralized him quite well, and their secondary was dinged-up/inexperienced. Seems like passing was the right decision. But apparently not...

Seriously, I saw few or no holes from the oline. We were never going to run successfully at any point after the first quarter since Sam is not allowed to run the ball this year. If we had run more, we would have not had 150 yards offense in the second half. Run more? I think we ran it too much. We ran it like the Jacksonville Jaguars. At some point, you have to be a decent passing team to win games in B12.

Well I didnt watch much so I cant comment. However, when a coach claims "we should of done this more/better" after reviewing film, that coach is essentially saying he has no idea how to make in game adjustments.

However, if what he is saying is wrong, well that just proves he has no ******* clue.

Paul sounds like one of these talking toys like Woody from Toy Story where any of ten things will come out of his mouth.

Was thinking the same thing. We were having success in the passing game. This ties right in with the comment he made on Lanning's TD pass. If its working, keep doing it.

TCU made an adjustment and brought an extra guy in the box to take away the run. Their DBs were on an island all night and struggled in the first quarter.... then Sam decided to hold the ball and didn't pick up blitzes and it went downhill from there.

I think we need to hire an "adjustment coach" to pick u\op on these little halftime changes.

"Hey, Paul. looks like the running game is being squashed by one more Horny Frog in the box . You might want to pass deep."

Yep, the ISU announcers picked up on it right away. They forgot to tell the staff.
