We Need Options

If anyone questions Fred's commitment, they can stop. If he had any intention to go he wouldn't have put off the operation until after the season. Instead he would have done it immediately to be ready for the pros
 
I remember this OP. He is the one who posted a blurb begging Fred to retire due to his health. Common theme? He wants Fred gone.
 
You are obviously a troll and probably don't deserve a response.

But to be very clear---if Fred leaves here next year or in 5 years or in 30 years---it is highly unlikely that whoever we hire will be his equal in coaching or an upgrade. He's that good. He's that elite. I pity people that can't see that.

And if for some reason an idiot like you was running things and Iowa State 'cut ties' with Hoiberg, he would have his pick of any college job opening and any NBA job opening.
 
Now I'm feeling concerned about the guy who comes after the guy who comes after Fred. Who's that going to be?

Obviously, Jamie Pollard must be concerned with this before making any kind of move. Without a clear and concise plan of succession, all hell will break loose.

1. I'm offended when people label me as a troll. That isn't funny to me.

2. Fred has turned our program respectable again, but I'm a spoiled fan, I want deep runs in the tourney. If he can't do that, I'd like to at least think about other options. And if Fred has any interest in the NBA, I think we should let him do what he wants. But just like every other coach that has came to this program, we don't owe him anything. IF there are better options, I'd like to see them get an opportunity. We owe Fred a little more time, but I think some posters on here think he deserves a 10 year extension which I disagree strongly with.

1. If you are not a troll, you are quite stupid. Take your pick.

2. THERE ARE LITERALLY NO BETTER OPTIONS THAN HOIBERG. None. We have the holy grail---an elite coach who is an Iowa State guy. It's what fans dream about. It's what AD's dream about.

3. We could have a coaching staff of Coach K, Tom Izzo, and Bill Self and Iowa State would still be worse off than with Hoiberg.

Fred took a miserable program and turned it into a 2x conference tournament champion, a sweet 16 appearance, and a potential top 5 preseason ranking in just five years at his first ever coaching job. Everyone is insanely hyped about next season because of Hoiberg and what he's done here.
