I might also add the smell of said fresh field when a rain first hits.

We had 2, 7 and 9 and when we finally got a TV with that cool second dial we got channel 32.

The modern plants have really cut back on that. I've been by Prestage's new plant by Eagle Grove multiple times and have yet to smell anything unpleasant. Maybe just timing ? I don't know.

True. Even the Hormel plant in Austin, MN isn't that bad these days.

I was going to say the smell of drying corn but that is only a month out of the year.

I thought of that, too. Also, smell of ground feed (ground corn w/ some soy mixture) ... as much as I hated grinding feed, I liked the aroma of it coming out of auger. "Farm boy nostalgia."
